Big blow against big tobacco

By this afternoon, the president could be signing a bill into law – giving the Food and Drug Administration the power to regulate tobacco companies. It's considered a huge step in the effort to snuff out smoking in America. The Senate overwhelmingly voted yesterday to strike a big blow against big tobacco.

Its so unAMERICAN to me . im DISGUSTED. they say by signing and putting this bill into play that americans will see less tobacco smoking, but thats not going to do curb the use of tobaacco and anything but raise the price on it which i see is already high as is...... obama trend..... he smoke cigs too hah what a flip flopper. he flipped on the war, flipped on drug war stance, flipped on the American people. Propaganda We can believe in. SOUND FAMILAR OBAMA?

By reducing the nicotine content of cigarettes, all that will result is that people will smoke MORE. Two, three cigarettes in order to receive the levels that ONE cigarette delivers now. Makes no sense. I think there has to be a better approach.

I feel government is getting too much say in what Americans can and cannot do, say or believe.
    Where does it all end?
I live where it was once thougth of as the Tobacco Capital of the World, North Carolina. Being raised on a tobacco farm, I have seen alot of changes over the years towards the tobacco farmers and the way big government has stepped in and tryed to take it over. Don't
they have enough on their plates?? The economy, the gas prices, etc.
I do not understand. They are slowly taking away all rights and God given freedoms that make this country so great. We are slowly being stripped of our rights, is communism far behind?
