Saving Dauphin Island

(CNN) – More than 4.5 million gallons of crude have spilled into the Gulf of Mexico so far. The president is now calling on Congress for $58 million in new emergency funding to fight this looming catastrophe.

Along the shore in places like Dauphin Island, Alabama, this sludge could change lives forever. And there is an all out effort to hold it back. Our Reynolds Wolf has the report.

I have been trying to get SOMEONE to listen to my idea for weeks but since I am not a brilliant engineer with a stack of degrees, or "the brightest mind in the business", I have hit a brick wall time after time. Sometimes "it is the simplest ideas to a complicated problem where the solution exists."
But I can guarantee that IF someone would listen to my idea on how to NOT "plug" or "cap" the oil leak, but instead on how to "capture" the oil from spilling into the ocean, it WILL work.
First, as has finally been reported, insert a metal pipe inside, or on the outside of the pipe leaking the oil and secure it on the outside with a rubber flexible tubing with clamps. On the other end of the coupling insert another "L" shaped elbow pipe, secured with another rubber coupling secured with clamps. In this pipe insert a pipe that extends to the top of the ocean where the oil is collected into barges.
Second, do the same method but instead of an "elbow" connection put a straight pipe into the rubber coupling that is laid on the ocean floor and extended to the shore line where the pipe is then connected to a collection source and emptied into tanker trucks.
The force of the oil coming out of the pipe will push it through these connections and pipes to the collecton source and there will be no problems with ice crystals, etc.
The entire problem has been that the "experts" have been concentrating on the wrong solution. The "experts" do not always have the best answer because they seek the most complicated solutions. Please, if this does not work, could someone contact me and explain why it will not work.
I can be contacted at 214-205-0723.
