Scheuer: Libya was none of our business

A U.S. intelligence source has confirmed the presence of CIA operations in Libya. What does an operation like this look like and what does it mean for the U.S.?

Michael Scheuer, former CIA Counterterrorism Analyst who headed CIA's Bin Laden Unit, says the U.S. should not have gone into Libya. Scheuer discusses the situation with Kiran Chetry and Christine Romans.

Folks I have had it with the Twinkie News style CNN has sunk to. Gone are the days of anchors with both gravitas and intelligence. Now you have MTV and shopping channel grade hosts, who bear no resemblance whatsoever to actual reporters. The interview with ex CIA analyst Michael Scheurer is perhaps typical of how utterly lame and profoundly stupid your on-camera staff have become.
YES they were regurgitating the white house "line" and nitwits that they are they tried to discredit Scheurer after he dared to disagree with the "opinion" held tentatively by the feeble minds of those two laughably lame and disingenuous jerklettes that work for you.

I used to be a fan of CNN...back in the day... but your empty-headed but well-buffed news "stars" have driven me to BBC, Al-Jazeera and Euro-news.

The Scheurer interview was the last straw. I cancelled CNN on my cable provider today. As your mindlessly vapid anchorettes might say,

".... my "sense is" that CNN is so now just too stupid to watch ."

Yes he did monitor Bin Laden. He did so until when? He was chief of the Osama bin Laden unit at the Counterterrorist Center from 1996 to 1999. He worked as Special Adviser to the Chief of the bin Laden Unit from September 2001 to November 2004. (Clinton/Bush) Does he give the order to send assets to make Bin Laden go away? No. That comes from the oval office. Michael Scheuer is giving his opinion which I take seriously. Some here giving comments take Kiran Chetry and Christine Romans much more seriously and actually want to defend their lack of knowledge and ability to "carry water for the President". This "kinetic military action" has been ordered by the banking elite who use the U.S. Military as the enforcer when someone steps out of line just like this dictator did. Obama carries water also.

It was none of our business in saving the Jews in WWII who later came back on the US and wanted reparations for not stepping in and doing anything about the holocaust even though it would have cost hundreds of thousands of allied lives and possibly the war itself.
Lets look at this in another way...
The last name of the so called analyst looks to be Jewish. The people we are saving are Muslim, Israel is in a continues state of war with Palestine (Muslims).
This man is a Analyst who headed CIA's Bin Laden Unit, that could not find or get the correct information on there target and has yet to find him.
The real question is who is this man working for and who benefits if we listen to his idea of who needs to be saved.

My guess is he is jewish and is dead set against anything that will help muslim people in any way.

Reminds me of how the Jews helped the Nazis round up the criminal elements in Europe before the war. They did such a good job at helping round up the unsavory people that no one was left to help them or heed there cries when the Germans turned against them.

Yet they expected and wanted reparations for the allies not sending in troops to save those that were sent to prison.

This sort of journalism really bothers me...

People like this forget all about history and live in the now so much they will not only suffer themselves in the end but hurt of destroy many other on there way...

Not an unconditional Michael Scheuer fan, but every single thing he says in this interview is true. Pure gold. Keep this one around and replay it when the whole Libya intervention turns to guano.

YEAH, YEAH! All the "experts" come out of the woodwork when things like this happen. Personally, I would let ALL of these two bit countries fight it out, and kill each other off, it is their history and in their genes.

Michael Scheuer, is 100 percent right, we have no business being involved in Libya.

It is time to file Articles of Impeachment against President Obama

While certainly partisan, Scheuer absolutely destroyed Romans in this. She is constantly flustered, talking over Chetry. I'm just glad Ali wasn't here today, or this would have been a real mess.

Scheuer brings up great points, although he clearly injects his own opinions. Christine Romans is known for her financial saavy, but anyone who articulates that the current financial situation of the U.S. is not dire or allows for any un-necessary spending (Libya) is suspect to me.

Chetry, who is normally amazing, also came off as a little strident in this interview.

Whatever the official party line of the U.S., our enemies will always use their perceptions of us to recruit. Why so much argument over that, CNN? Scheuer was right about a lot in this interview, and it was good to hear the truth.

So this was our guy hunting Bin Laden, eh?
This was a pretty sick interview with someone who should not have influence of the purchase of paper clips at the CIA let alone influence over US foreign policy. This schtick may work on Fox News but not on a serious news network.
The interview should have concluded as soon as he made a completely baseless assertion that these rebels were the same fighters sent to kill US soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. His foray into the US Economic Policy was was fortunately cut off by Christine and good for her for keeping her cool in spite of his rabid comments and insults
