Defense calls big witnesses to testify in Casey Anthony trial

The defense in Casey Anthony's murder trial continued to present their case yesterday, calling some big witnesses to the stand to testify, including meter reader Roy Kronk and Casey's former fiance, Jessee Grund.

Although it took place after the jury had left the court room, Grund testified that Casey told him that she had been groped by her brother, a development that may have the biggest impact on the case.

Sunny Hostin, CNN legal contributor, discusses these testimonies and the importance they played in potentially advancing the defense's case.

the Casey Anthony trial wraps up soon. Hopefully today. Not a key witness. Casey may testify today. Prosecution leaves us with questions regarding kaylee's murder. A troubled lady, Casey presents herself to the court as an emotional woman, having many breaks in the trial. The gruesome murder of Kaylee should not be ignored however; if the defence choses to, we'll see the many breaks and if they elaborate on the emotions of Casey. In America we work under a system of innocent until proven guilty. Keys in this trial are duck tape, insect infestation and some other biological testimony. emails 'prose' to call web adress at website:

CNN's coverage of this trial has made this into a soap opera. Evidence doesn't seem to matter much; instead guilt or innocence seems to turn on who cries most effectively, who doesn't, who smiles yada yada. If ms Anthony is convicted it won't be for the killing of her child, but for not reacting as Sonny Hoskins thinks she should. Such is the state of Justice in America.
