States are quickly assembling their construction wish lists. But it takes time to advertise for contractors, collect bids, check the numbers, pick a winner and get work underway.

A typical paving project - easy roadwork - takes close to three months from the time the money is approved to the arrival of work boots on the ground, according to the American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials.

"It is not an instant process," says a spokesman.

President Obama and Vice President Biden know their unprecedented $787 billion emergency spending package has to put hard hats on America's streets soon - or their administration risks losing credibility.

  1. Joseph Danile Brian Lawlor,

On Sept.11 th American Finance took a shot to the heart with the hit to the World Trade Center and the Military took a heart shot to the heart with the hit on the Pentagon. The stimulus package nothing more than a blood transfusion in a feeble attempt to save the body is it not?

Peoples 401K's the blood needed to continue on in life when retirement comes around and leaderships failure to secure will cause the Peoples to soon bring out once again a tool used for leaderships failure, the guillotine.

Government, Industry, Finance, Academic, Military, Media, Religion and the Peoples individual structures within the structure of society itself is it not. If one knows structure one knows where and how to hit it Jim.

The horded money like blood clots to the body of our nations and much like doctors can go in and remove those blood clots returning proper circulation to the body so too will this be done as we progress with this operation.

You are talking about the 787 billion dollar Pork Job Stimulus.....you know the one where the Democratic Congress passed, then the White House (I bet Rahm Emmanuel) and the Bank Committee pulled the legislation that Rep Snowe had in to limit drastically bonuses. Remember the bill, it is a crisis, no you can't read it, sign by Friday, Pelosi in Italty Monday, Obama on vacation until Tuesday. They have lost credibility...CNN going to report it.

In your morning show, you suggested that we should keep feeding our 401K.

Mine is down 49.5%... Theoritically, if this trend keeps on going down for the next few months, it could be down to 0%. Should we continue feeding it?
