What’s on Tap – Friday March 27, 2009

Here are the big stories we’re working on for you today:

  • Bracing for Disaster – There are evacuations in place for parts of Fargo, North Dakota.  There’s word of a levee breach as flood predictions get even worse.
  • Pacific Showdown – Navy Ships are on the move as North Korea readies to launch what it says is a satellite.  The U.S. believes it’s really a missile.  The president only has a few minutes to decide whether to shoot it down, once it’s up there.
  • Shifting Strategy – President Obama putting al Qaeda leaders on notice : You’re no longer safe in Pakistan.  The Commander in Chief will also announce plans to send 17,000 additional troops to Afghanistan.
  • Working Hard, or Hardly Working? – Remember the “do nothing” Congress?  Well it’s passed 175 measures since January 6th.  Resolution 37 authorized the use of the Capitol Grounds for the Greater Washington Soap Box Derby.  Really?? They’re focused on soap box derbies in this economy??
  • Lower Your Property Taxes – Your home value has dropped, but you’re probably still paying the same amount in property taxes.  Personal Finance Editor Gerri Willis will show you how to hit back.

The Tesla Model S is totaly awesome, i just looked at a e-mail they sent me $49,900 with the $7,500 tax credit.

The standard Model S does 0-60 mph in under six seconds and will have an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph, with sport versions expected to achieve 0-60 mph acceleration well below five seconds. A single-speed gearbox delivers effortless acceleration and responsive handling. A 17-inch touchscreen with in-car 3G connectivity allows passengers to listen to Pandora Radio or consult Google Maps, or check their state of charge remotely from their iPhone or laptop. With three battery pack choices will offer a range of 160, 230 or 300 miles per charge, and a fast charger that only charges in 45 minutes!

    Tesla is getting it done!

Good grief ~~ all we need is to nose into N. Korea's business. The missle/satelite is to go over Japan. Let the Japanese Imperial Fleet take care of things their selves. If it goes into Unites States air space, then YES, take it out if necessary. We have enough other countries mad at us as it is. 🙁

We have become like the drug dealer down the street that give his future customer a sample, knowing full well that once that person comes down from thier high, they will want more money. And like many drug user once thier money runs out they will sell what ever they have for a faction of it's ture value ans some thimes nothing, that is what many of our corporations are doing in these third world countries, getting them in debt and force them to sign over thier resources that they never developed, or we will call for the full payment of thier debts all at once!

The lady from Africa is right, when i found out that the U.S. and other first world countries pay African countries third wolrd countries not to grow their own food so that they will not be able to drive down prices in our markets I was totally pissed off. We have been praying on these countries for years, so that their weak leaders will take the money and sign over thier rights to what resources that they do have!

Dear John and Kirin, CNN needs to compare Pres. Obama's on air time with that of former Pres. Bush 2 . Evaluate the quality, quantity, content, openness, sincerity, finesse, knowledge of subject matter, pertinence to the matter at hand, holistic approach, phrasing, plausibility, confidence, elocution; aw shucks you get my drift! Have a great weekend!

In a time when the economy is dropping out the bottom, most State governments are scrambling to get MORE tax dollars and the value of our property is the last thing they will re-evaluate. After all state governments are part of the bigger problem in the economy. They will keep their salaries high but ask everyone else to give a little. US government at its finest!
