Susan Candiotti said this morning that she was in Warren, Michigan at a "plant." GM does not have assembly plants in Warren, Michigan. It has the GM Tech Center–the center of it's styling and creation of prototypes (the worker she interviewed said he built prototypes). My Dad, now 101, was Gen. Supt. of Manufacturing at that "plant"–it was home to 850 craftsmen in 1969 (when Dad retired) who built prototypes for Chevrolet and other GM Divisions. These were men, and they were all men at the time, who put their hearts and souls into their work. Now, I understand, the place is only a shadow of itself.
