What’s a wingnut?
Someone on the far-right wing or far-left wing of American politics. In a polarized two-party system, they have disproportionate influence and too often define the terms of debate.
With “Wingnuts of the Week,” commentator John Avlon tries to take that power back. Each Friday he joins us on "American Morning" with his wingnut picks – one from the right and one from the left.
Who should be this week's "Wingnuts of the Week"? Tell us in the comments below.

Politics have no place in school.Indoctrination is indoctrination. What ever happened to the 3 R's?Reading, writting and arithmatic?Let kids be kids and learn and think freely for themselves without the gov't telling them what to believe in.
Socialism is Socialism and Socialists are Socialists I don't care what they call themselves now at days. You would have been spat upon or worse in my day.Ironic that the KGB's handlers code name for Alfred Rosenberg was "liberal" and funny how todays Socialist still get all fired up and bent out of shape about McCarthy and Operation Venona.Todays so called "liberals" are a disgrace to the Liberal founding-fathers who they now call criminals and would have been hung for treason end of story.
"Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers it is called Democracy in action"
"Democracy is the death of the Republic"-Plato
I can't find a better winner for wingnuts of the week than the GOP who are accusing the President of being a socialist, etc. over his education speech to children. They have completely moved into the Nation of Stupid. I do hope the majority of Americans see through this and don't buy into it, but it frightens me to hear of parents saying they are "afraid" of the President....since when is it bad to encourage kids to do well in school? Very sad.......
Colorado mother, Shanneen Barron. See CNN article on Obama's speech. Does she even make sense?
i am a parent and grandparent..after reviewing a few news sites I am for the parents on this one... seems like Obama is trying to act more like a star than president, tis a shame and embarrassing..
i nominate dave and andre. you both sound like your own kind of nut.
I vote for "Tom Settles" – who left a prior comment on this page.
Also, Glenn Beck, who could win this award this, and every, week.
Who are you to call people wing nuts/ Are you more eduucated them the puplic you serve.?
Jim Greer, by far, should be Wingnut of the Year. Everytime I read his quote I'm not sure if I want to vomit or hide in my house for the rest of my life knowing that people like him exist and are actually in political office. YIKES
Some facts for the liberals. Jan 3rd 2007 the day the dems took over Congress. Dow 12,821.77–GDP last quarter 3.5%-unemployment 4.6%–Bush set a record 52 straight months of job creations–The day Barney Frank took over the house financial services committee–Chris Dodds took over senate banking committee-15 months later what part of the economy was the meltdown in-financial and banking services. The health bill will ration health care, first they are taking over 600 billion from medicare, which will cut services, they will use the same system that the U.K. uses. That means if they say you can only spend 5,000 on your care that year and your treatments cost 20,000 that year, treatment will be refused, which means death panel.
I would like to nominate John Avlon, The Democrat Congressional Leadership and CNN. All this name calling and disrespect for the opposition is not helping the President but actually may be helping his opposition.
Wingnuts are Detroit Red Wings hockey fans.
The people you are calling wingnuts are simply Americans exercising their right to free speech.
It is you who should be ridiculed for denigrating them... stop trying to stifle dissent... stop being propagandists for Obama.
Wingnut of the Month needs to be John P. Avlon. My ,common sense, tells me that Mr. Avlon is living in denial. I'm going to save this e-mail and remind Mr. Avlon of his comments 3 years from. The bright of this is that we all live in a FREE country and have the right to express our opion, let's hope that continues. I'm going to make a wild guess and say that this comment will not be posted. 🙂
Although obviously not from the right wing of either party I would like to nominate John Avlon. All this namecalling i.e. "wingnut" or "dimocrat" is only feeding the "hate" between the parties. Although, some (CNN apparently included and Mr. Avlon in particular) think it is funny, it only drives the wedge between the parties deeper. This does not help the President and may actually help his opposition.
Sorry to see Cnn going to the far left and promoting Obama's programs.Cnn used to be the network that was fair, sad to see it is ubable to do that anymore and now want to muzzel Lou Dobbs.Guess if you have the money anyone or any network is for sale.
All conservatives – no matter what party.
A bunch of destructive cowards, who are just naysayers with no plans of their own.
My vote for wing nut of the week goes to:
The bat crap crazy commentator "Bob" on August 18th, 2009 8:51 pm ET and the rest of those that "think?" like he does.
And the award trophy for all these tea bagging, gun-totin', bible thumpin' whackos – new tin foil hats...
President Obama is definitely a wingnut. Look at the original suggested lesson plans for his school speach. Unbelievable. Bush did nothing like that when he addressed the school children so don't give me your "well Bush did it" arguments. Aside from the fact that he shouldn't do everything Bush did (like pass healthcare legislation without paying for it), Bush didn't. Another wingnut has to be Van Jones. Bush orchestrated 911? What a moron. Down with the Czars.
Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, Dick Cheney, George Bush, John McCain, Bobby Jindal, Sarah the quitter Palin, Mitt Romney, Haley Barbour, Gov Sanford, the list is endless
How about President Obama. I find it ironic that he's sharing his "compassion for education" with school children, however, he clearly wants his own children to be off limits to such classroom politicization. Upon moving to Washington, he chose to enroll his children in the private Sidwell Friends School.
The entire United States Congress, which has passed some of the most outlandish legislation, and approved spending for issues that effect a very small number of people, simply because they could – like the 2,000 pound ape who was allowed to cross the street just because he could.
I nominate the Texas seccessionist. These were the same people who demanded we say the "Pledge of Allegience" in all schools.
i just wonder why you are saying the republicans use name calling by calling them names. all of you are like a bunch of school kids on the play ground. grow up
I taught chemistry in high school for 32 yrs. it's about time a president had the guts to tell parents and students to start doing your job!!
Sincerely Steven W. Mc Cafferty
Van Jones by a mile (puts him strongly in the running for wingnut of the month). Check out his ideology and background .......... an avowed communist. As the Administration puts in place their "shadow govt" of czars, with no accountability to congress, Jones calls Republican opposition "assholes" because they oppose massive government spending, takeover of private enterprise, pushing a socialist agenda, and totally ignoring Obama's statement that this will be the most transparent administration in history
Better add Pawlenty to the list. Claims the speech to kids is univited and must have "motives". This is a man we are supposed to be taking seriously as a candidate for president. Keep him in Mi9nnesota folks if that is what you want. Shame on his ignorance and politics.
My pick for wingnut is CNN, for there rearkissing reporting on the godlike Obama
Wingnuts need two 'wings'; how about the nutjob duo of Pelosi and Reid.
The whole country...everyone of us. We are imploding. We have become dysfunctional to the point where we have started our decline as a super power, an empire.
Biggest Wingnut: The "I hate Obama" Preacher who wants his children fatherless and Michelle a widow. He's more than dangerous!
This is a really, really sad commentary on how evreything that President Obama or his admnistation says or attempts to do is seen through partisan eyes.
Just because the President is asking school kids to write themselves letters on how they can help him does not, I don't believe, constitute a socialist act.
People are commenting the children are not being asked to help their family or friends. But do parents really believe that this isn't about holding themselves responsible and has nothing to do with President Obama.
Any country should be proud to have their President, elected by the people, to be sending a positive message to their small chidren.
Does anyone really think that a 3rd grader is going to come up with a suggestion to combat global warming?
This is just a way for the President of our country to speak directly to children, which doesn't happen too often.
I have a distinct feeling that if President Bush had done the exact same thing, asking for the letter, and Democrats attacked him I think (I know) they would be saying how callous it is. If any Republican would say different then they are not being honest.
The only reason there is any uproar is that it is Preseident Obama. If a President McCain was to make the same speech no one would have had an issue with it.
With all the issues going in our country and in the world right now it is very sad for people to be so small minded that they want to focus their energy on something like this.
President Obama is not "indoctrinating" kids or anyone else with anything except to give a positive message and get kids involved and thinking they can do something to help their President. How cool is that?
Let's remember that helping our President means helping the American people. That's a message I think we can all learn something from.
Go West, young man. Pretty much the entire Repub contingency of the Arizona legislature qualifies. These are the geniuses who OK'd guns in bars and whose legislation keeps AZ at the bottom of the list for education.
This is just my opinion, but the following was posted by a wingnut:
Dave, my question to you is, How many of those Kingoms of Man that failed were believers in a higher being? Many, I think. How many wars throughout history, have killed millions in the name of The Almighty.
And notice one other thing. I did capitalize the reference to "Him". You don't have to believe in God to be a decent human being. It is time for this country to "really" seperate Church and State or nothing will get done.
"It is written…Man cannot succeed without God. Man pushing their own agenda will fail. Give it time, all men will fail without a foundation. And those of you who think otherwise…look at all the kingdoms of man…they have all failed.
America is failing because we think we can fix all things. If we would all learn about God and the love he has for us we can move mountains and peace will be with all the world."
wingnut of the week: obama
Small history note Bush takes office in recession leads economy out of it and the many rolling blackouts and two wars and Democrats get elected to office because more people oppose the war and now we are back in a recession again. With deficits soaring out of control and even more spending proposed on the horizon. Hmmm no pattern here is there?
Jim Greer and Glenn Beck who believe that the President will indoctrinate their kids with a 10 minute speech. Go home and educate your kids yourselves so you teach them the difference between right and wrong and they are not "changed" by someone talking about how important education is.
Just read about "ObamaCare Supporter Bites Off Finger Of Protester"
how can opponents of the donkeycrats be called wingnuts after THIS type of actions from the people organized by MoveOn.org. Isn't that one of Obama's group?
Fear mongering will not help the GOP cause. Don't forget tthat Reagan and Bush Sr gave speeches during their administrations to the public school system promoting their agenda in 1986 and 1989. What hypocricy to accuse Obama of a socialist ideology. It is time for the GOP to recognize that their white rural academically challenged religious zealot base is a thing of the past.
John Avlon – For his failure to understand that centrist position of Americans is what he refers to as "liberal" and the polls clearly show that a supermajority of Americans demand a public option or no change at all. Cowardice in the face of a fight will not be tolerated.
I think there should be a special place in the wingnut hall of fame for Glenn Beck, whose tirades border on sedition. He would have been right at home with propagandists like Goebbels, right down to his television appearance in lederhosen!
I think we are seeing a very sad time in our country's history. It appears that no one cares about the good of the country. It does not matter that we desperately need health care reform for our countries sake, it just matters that we destroy the opposite politcal party anyway we can. Winning ,anyway possible to regain or keep control of political power. These baseless attacks and outwrite lies to whittle away the Presidents support are hurting this country terribly. It used to be that the country came first. Now it's me and my party no matter what it cost the rest of us.
If parents are upset because the President of the United States wants to talk to kids about their future and commitment then they were obviously deprived or asleep during their education experience. Our President is a great example for all, including children, of how self commitment and dedication can yield success. Maybe those parents who are upset about this should be required to watch it in order to supplement their educational gaps and get a good dose of common sense which is obviously missing.
John, I nominate you for Wingnut of the Week. Get a clue.
Parents have every right to determine what their kids are exposed to – that is an expectation that should be respected. John, you are doing what caused Obama to fail – you don't understand that Americans REALLY DO THIS – THEY REALLY DO CARE ABOUT WHAT THEIR KIDS ARE EXPOSED TO! Obama has no clue about middle America and how our kids are rasied. We don't sit in churches with our kids while the Pastor rants about how another race of people are evil and oppressive like Obama did with his kids. We don't do crack cocaine as a youth and then think that is good role model material. We don't elect a President to find he wants to meddle in every aspect of our lives. Obama is another candidate for wingnut as his agenda is still as murky as most of his other records from schools and organizations he has been associated with.
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. Where oh where do I start! The little billionaire is treating NYC like his personal fiefdom! The laws mean nothing and he has already stated that there is no one running against him in November. Wingnut doesn't half describe him.
Wingnut – Van Jones. he is caught in one gaffe after another and makes a hollow apology with no repercussions. He is associated with groups that if white-based would have him dismissed in dishonor and the President that tapped him impeached. Since the groups he has been affiliated with and have used to forward his agenda are all black nationalist and/or socialist – it is OK? Get real folks this guy has an agenda that is all-American as Borat.
I have the perfect idea . . . .Obama speaks to the kids next week but following that Cheney gets to visit and speak to all the kids as well. Lets see how fair and unbiased it is that way.
Every time someone disagrees with Mr. Obama they are called a racist. The real wingnut is the person that continues to put race into every disagreement. For the truly wingnut job, Obama is actually half white, so the racist comments are even more out of line.
Glenn Beck...with his Red Scare tactics and ridiculous rants. This
man is irresponsible and dangerous, in my opinion. Fox, wake up.
Be careful, your prejudice is showing wingnuts!!!!!
Van Jones should be a lock for "wingnut of the Week". This guy is out there. Between his radical ideology and his unbelievable perception on "white environmentalists". This guy should get "Wingnut of the Month"
how about CNN's own Ruben Navarette? – his articles always contain a few wingnutty ideas.
How about Van Jones for being part of the "truther" movement. A group of people who think Bush allowed 9/11 to happen so he could bomb Afganistan. Or is he exempt since he's part of the Obama administration?
John P. Avlon for wingnut of the week. The more you liberal idiots speak, the deeper the hole you dig for yourselves. Thanks for doing what the republican leadership failed to do for the last 20 years – scare people back to their senses.
Pastor Ernie Sanders has a right wing radio show on 120 AM and last week said the he has proof that Obama goes to "sodomite" bath houses with his "sodomite" friends. Just in case your not sure, "sodomite" is wingnut for homosexual.
Michele Bachmann. All day, every day.
A US president should ask kids what they can do for the country NOT what kids can do for the president. Very self indulgent and counter productive for our country. America has always been about country. That is our strength. No citizen should promote themself before country including the president.
I think all of the wingnuts(Wackos) on the right and the left should go back to their corner of the world and raise their little Wackos as they see fit and leave the rest of us alone. Maybe just maybe if they get out of the way we can fix this country and get it back for all the people and not just the Wingnuts and media ratings.Enough with the hate statements and hate reporting....
Avlon couldn't lean further left if you cut off his leg below the jerking knee. Quit blowing smoke, it tickles.
These right wing nuts should put thier heads back in thier buttocks and shutup! They have already put this Country at the brink of collapse!
My suggestion for "Wingnut of the Week" is – John Avlon and CNN's Wingnut of the week. This program is so biasedly oneside, you even have Avlon on as representing the right wing perspective in a duality with a Democrat politician on health care. If this were "Liberal wingnut of the Week" it might be more accurate. But while the right is full of wing nuts, Avlon's idea of a liberal wingnut is a Hawaii Democratic politician who advocates that workers on a U.S. project in the U.S. territory of Guam, get paid what most U.S. workers make. Avlon thinks this is "wingnutty" because how dare we pay third world countries first world wages! The audacity. CNN needs to dump this obvious entertainment intended piece which is so biased, that it's intellectually insulting.
Jim Greer hands down! No one else comes close! Closely followed by the numerous seniors who beef that they don't want socialized medicine but are happy to use medicare. Arrgh!
This week it has to be Bachman, (R) MN for stating in Denver, that the GOP as a group...."needs to sign a covenant, and slit there wrists to be blood brothers against Obamacare."
And to think she was elected? But then the GOP group slitting their wrists, this could be good!
my perpetual favorites ,for this or any other week, are the "zionism is racism" / boycott israel out of existence crowd who often describe themselves as "progressives" and "human rights-y" while acting as useful idiots for the most bigoted–indeed genocidal–forces in the world. ( e.g hamas, hizbollah and their patron ahmadinejad and the mullahs)
In effect they are "so far left, they're right", if one uses a circular model of political ideology.
we have a particularly strident and annoying cabal of them here in ann arbor who have picketed a local synagogue for 6 years in the idiotic notion that this has a constructive effect on their cause..
John Avion – you're the wingnut.
The HEAD wingnut is John Avalon for setting himself up as an authority when IN FACT he is an underachiever and a wannabee. Our "commander in chief" is all talk. He got the job by acting like a celebrity. Now "some" voters are seeing their mistake and Obama's credability is headed for the toilet.
He's worried about a second term. The only RECORD he holds is the highest deficiet. Go away John John.
VAN JONES – Uses swear words repeatedly in public forums, and signs multiple petitions and is member of group that thinks our government had involvement in planning 9/11 attack. CRAZY WINGNUT
NANCY PELOSI – calls Americans who choose to speak thier minds – "Traitors" and "AstroTurf" after Obama sends Acorn and SEIU on buses to town hall meetings. HYPOCRITE WINGNUT
MARIA CANTWELL – goes on CNN to back up her claims that CIA, who protect our country, should be prosecuted. It is the Senators and Congress that have voted to raise deficits to $10 TRILLION that should be prosecuted. SPENDAHOLIC WINGNUT
Next week's wingnut should be you! Instead of working towards common ground, you're calling people names and making fun of them. YOU are defining the terms of the debate on issues relevant to Americans, by marginalizing the people involved in these debates.
You have a PUBLIC FORUM. Why not be the center of debates, and open up this site as a place for respectful debate, instead of childish name-calling.
The reason we have a polarized two party system is because people aren't discussing, debating or allowing themselves to act outside of party lines for fear of public humiliation. Everyone's reactionary and pointing fingers and so people are huddled together with their respective parties to protect themselves from the ridicule of the other side. How about you take the lead and make this a place for rational, respectful debate instead of perpetuating the name calling, immaturity and us versus them mentality that pervades current politics.
You aren't taking power back. You're perpetuating reactionary behavior. What ever happened to respecting people?
How about Ted Kennedy?
5 years ago he had the Massachusetts law changed to make it more difficult, if not impossible to have the governor of the state pick a Senator to replace one who was leaving his post.
He did this because at the time Mit Romney, a republican was governor and when John Kerry, a democrat, was leaving office, Mit would have been able to replace Kerry with a Republican. Ted Kennedy would not have liked that.
Now, because he knows he close to leaving office and because he knows that deomcratic governon Duval Patrick has little chance of being re-elected, he wants the law changed back to the way it was before a republican has the chance to retake the governorship.
Not only is Ted Kennedy a wingnut, he's a two faced elitist nut job of a wingnut! Whats good for the goose is good for the gander......unless your name is Kennedy and you live in Massachusetts!
Glenn Beck, total wingnut! Contradicts himself whenever he feels like it. Will express his opinion, then the next year, even the next month, will express the opposite opinion, as if he held that position all along. And is vitriol is TOTAL WINGNUT!
Pamela Pilger should be ranking pretty high in the wingnut category!
You should feature Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. These two wingnuts are about as disconnected from reality as one can get and they are both uneducated Repubs.
These are my nominations for next week's wingnuts. The basic theme is that wingnuts on both sides use degrading racist or sexist imagery to promote their agendas, imagery that most sane Americans would find very offensive.
On the left: PETA. It's been running offensive billboards featuring a degrading image of a scantily clad, obese female next to the words "Save the Whales: Lose the Blubber". Women's rights groups have, quite naturally, gotten very offended by this. This is not the first time PETA has used sexism to promote its agenda:
http://blogs.wweek.com/news/2009/08/19/why-feminist-peta-protesters-got-kicked-out-of-powells/
On the right, Kristin Atkinson, a blogger at the conservative site Townhall.com, who claimed that Barack Obama's mother-in-law Marian Robinson has been practicing Santeria or Voodoo in the White House. This is, quite obviously, an appeal to some of the most degrading racial stereotypes of African Americans.
Atkinson's original blog entry is no longer accessible, but quite a few other people have taken notice, including conspiracy-monger Alex Jones and his website, Prisonplanet.
http://www.prisonplanet.com/voodoo-in-obama%E2%80%99s-white-house.html
http://wonkette.com/410601/is-barack-obamas-mother-in-law-a-black-witch
http://www.therightperspective.org/2009/08/18/obama-mom-in-law-practising-witchcraft/
"Racist, sexist, and just plain wingnutty." PETA and Kristin Atkinson are my suggestions for next week's wingnuts.
Pelosi for wingnut....how can you not go after her.......lies,lies, and still more lies......oh,,,she's sure the CIA lied......what happened to that.....I know, she threw you a curve and had you chasing astroturf.....no wait....Nazi's......no wait.....organized mobs at public rallies.....no wait...its the insurance companies......no wiat its those auto exec's in their private jets......no wait...she ordered some half billion dollars worth of private jets to fly her around on our dime....no wait..the public outrage reduce the purchase to just a couple jets, but now that the money saved has been already appropriated instead of not spending it...lets spend it on something else...maybe we could send it to Acorn to help bus them to healthcare rallies........noooooooooo!
I also nominate that airline company that keep forty-five Americans captive on that plane for over seven hours, and over night. When did being on an airplane that is owned by any of the airline become like con-air you have no right, to clean toilets, water to drink, food, and fresh clean air!
That is why i have not flown for over ten years and I tell all of my family and friends not to fly as long as we do not have a bill of rights for airline passenger. But as long as we Americans get treated worse then cattle they will no get any of my money!
Michelle Malkin is a fine woman but man i can not stand her politics, if she needs a date I volunteer to spend a fun filled evening with her, as long as she is a single of course! 🙂
Doe Hall
Yeah that old man assaulted that black woman at that town meeting, he had no right to go over and yank anything out of anyones hand, the people running the town meeting had no right telling the people that they had to give up their freedom of speech rights to enter the town meeting! And yet many others had sign in that meeting too, even the Cops refused to stop people from acting upon their freedom of speech rights. They know full well that they do not want to be in court for any reasons of suppressing the right to speak out in America!
Senator Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), has become one of the rights biggest wingnuts, you would think him being in office that he would learn to curb his tongue, but the man has shown little honor, in his cowardly acts and words! Telling full blown lie to people is just not what honorable people do!
Lou Dobbs is a wingnut too, ever since President Obama took the oath of office he has slowly shown that he is a right wingnut, at every opportunity and even when there is no reason to show his hate and fear, he makes sure that we now that he does not like the President being in office! When the right does something unseemly, he ask why doesn't the President respond to thier unjust acts, as if it is his responsiblity to answer every horrid act of the right! The man has to run the country, so unlike Lou Dobbs, he does not have time to be watching everything that the right does, unlike Lou Dobbs!
The guy who grabbed the black women's "Rosa Parks" sign at Claire McCaskill's town hall meeting. If that had been my wife's sign, my man would have gotten a major beat down.
Lou Dobbs wingnut on the right. Although he claims to be politically "independent," Dobbs has shown his extreme right wing views by his comparison of former DNC chair Dr. Howard Dean to a vampire "who can only be diffused by a stake to his heart!" And by continuing to foment the nonsense that President Obama must show his long form birth certificate to prove he is an American citizen.
Enough Sarah Palin already. Simply trying to get elected on her looks, nothing inside! Get over yourself! CLUELESS!!!
The far right wingers, who don't read before screaming. Sarah Palin, is a pretty woman who has never read a real book, on history along with the hate talk from Russ the pill taking talk host. How can anybody with a mind but any faith in these rightwingers. Everyone has a right to an opinion, only if its not down right lies. Lies, only hurt people and good causes. Health care reform has to happen. The insurance companies are in control of our health. Not the doctors or nurses or even ourselves.
Big business controls the america we live in today. Let.'s take our country
I think the guy who suggested that health care reform wasn't needed because the cost of liposuction has come down and the government doesn't pay for that procedure.
Obama definately gets wingnut of the week and year for wanting to add more debt, creating another government disaster, but most of all for speaking out against Americans rights for free speech!
Sarah Palin gets my vote this week and the rest of the year and all of next year. She talks about the country she loves. Sarah Palin loves only Sarah Palin. She makes statements like that for only one reason, to stay in the public eye. If the media would quit reporting her idiotic views, maybe she'd go away. From my lips to God's ears!
I nominate the organization 60plus.org which sponsors long scare commercials on TV aimed at preventing passage of the health care reform bill.
SARAH P OF ALASKA, WINGNUT OF THE WEEK--JUST WHERE DOES ANY VERSION OF THE HEALTH BILL STATE THAT CITIZENS WILL BE PUT TO DEATH. RIDICULOUS!!!
Sarah Palin, of course – "death panels"
Kate Obenshain – for comparing Palin to Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin – all strong women or some such nonsense.
Vote for Sarah Palin...Wingnut of the Year
Palin: Obama's "Death Panel" Could Kill My Down Syndrome Baby
Thank goodness she's an ex-governor..this would sound ridiculous if she was still in office...now she can be...all that she can be...
Reporters don't have to make up this stuff....she provides it freely.
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/08/palin-obamas-death-panel-could-kill-my-down-syndrome-baby.php?ref=fpblg
How about the wingnut Virginia Foxx and her comment that the government is trying to get health care reform passed so they can kill older Americans? I'm embarrassed to say I'm from North Carolina.
Or, generally these Republican goons who are disrupting town hall meetings? It doesn't really matter if the GOP or the insurance companies put them up to it...it seems that they don't want to be bothered with th facts, their minds are made up. Why not ask legitimate questions and let the congressman or woman answer and then make up your own mind about whether to support it.
I've noticed the GOP doesn't have many ideas to offer instead of the proposed healthcare reform...the party of NO!
Good morning all,
Why not use the Campbell Brown footage from Thursday nite of Bill Bennett calling President Obama stupid, several times.
The right wing would be livid if anyone on the left had called President Bush stupid on a News program.
Remember the Republicans statements that any one who said something to disrespect the President was un-American. I guess that only applies to Presidents being the RIGHT color and belonging to the RIGHT party.
Come on why won't CNN roll that footage, discuss Bill Bennett WINGNUTcomments. Shame on CNN for hiding a Contributor's-WINGNUT RANTS
About 2 months ago, I was driving and about to enter Interstate-95 to go toward Miami. Suddenly some school kids ran across the I-95 entrance.
The car in front of me stopped short and i stopped, about 2 cars lengths behind her. Just as I felt at ease that nether the driver in front of me nor I had hit the school kids, BANG BODA BOOM, I was rear ended by a young lady in an SUV. The vehicle rear ended me at approximately 45 miles per hour. Luckily my handicapped lift and scooter at the rear of my vehicle absorbed most of the shock. When the officer arrived to help us he asked the young lady what happened. She looked blankly at the officer and then gazed at me and said "I don't know, I was looking down (Texting) and all of a sudden I felt the airbag and I really don't know what happened then".
A CASE FOR NOT TEXTING WHILE DRIVING!
Thank goodness no one was seriously hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The young driver was a cute WINGNUT and could have been the star of "CLUELESS".
“Wingnuts” and the lobbyists’/ congressional collusion are the two most contributing forces to the economic and cultural anarchy that is overwhelming the U.S. today.
"Wingnuts" and the lobbyists' congressional prostitutes are the two most contributing forces to the economic and cultural anarchy that is overwhelming the U.S. today.
I think Lou Dobbs should be at the top of your list as he has become more right wing with each passing day and is now embracing the racist lunatics who are saying Obama is not an american citizen.
Mitch McConnel and scatter brain Palin.
I listened to her speach last night and is she a scatter brain
Wingnuts are going to continue to wield disproportionate influence in American politics until we change the way we vote. Experience both in and out of the US shows that Instant Runoff Voting (www.fairvote.org) forces candidates to cater more to the center than to the fringes.
When we vote, we simply "rate the candidates from first to worst."
When the vote is counted, we count the first-choice votes. If no one wins a true majority, throw out the candidate with the least votes and redistribute his next-choice votes. Continue this simple process until someone wins an actual majority.
Only have one choice you like? Vote only for that candidate. If he loses, since you didn't give a second choice you abstain form the runoff. Simple.
No "wasted votes." Everyone can vote his conscience. No "spoiler effects." And best of all, it takes the power away form the extremes. This is the only way I can think of to de-polarize American politics.
A good start would be for CNN to take the lead in polling – both online and phone – by allowing people to vote this way. Get people used to it and expecting it, and they'll work to get it changed. The states are allowed to run their elections however they like, and the Electoral College ensures that no state changing its counting methods in any way changes its influence in presidential elections.
