What's on tap – Thursday May 21, 2009

Hello everyone,

We're following several developing stories right now. We'll break them down for you this morning.

  • A terror plot foiled in New York City. This morning, details about the plan to bomb a synagogue and shoot down U.S. fighter jets. And the incredible story of how the feds kept it from happening.
  • Also developing right now – new clues in the search for a 13-year-old cancer patient on the run with his mother. She's refusing to treat him with the conventional medicine doctors say could save his life. But this morning, authorities are hoping for a break as they ramp up their search and move the focus to California.
  • Plus, talking terror. President Obama set to deliver a major speech on national security today. But it won't be the only one. His biggest critic on the issue – former Vice President Dick Cheney also addressing the issue. And this morning the sniping between administrations past and present is already underway.

We don't close Gitmo and how stupid is that, then to bring these killers to the United States. Get real Obama! Think of the safety of Americans and not your politics!

What's on tap for this country is Change.

Americans voted for a Change. That Change has come to government in myriad forms that have not been seen before in American government history.

Because of myriad prejudices and bigotries of old ways instilled in to generations of today e.g., people of prejudice and bigotry ideology's are looking at the color of this Presidents skin and making false references to him being a Muslim, shows their eroded mentality.

Americans, let us unite together regardless of our individual ideas and ways of thinking an make America great again regardless of our present economic woes. Americans have always recovered, because Americans can endure and overcome economic downfalls as before.

I enjoy your show. Yinz (John, Kiran, Alina, Suzane, Carol) seem like a group of folks that enjoy working together. I miss that – folks at my last job didn't like each other, so I left.

Kiran, since you grew up here (I live just outside Gaithersburg) I'd appreciate if you'd look into the gang wars going on here. There was a particularly brutal murder in late April of a 15 year old, he wasn't a MS-13 member, but he was killed because he associated with them. Dumped the poor kid in a park near I-270/I-370.

Olde Town isn't the place you grew up. I won't go there after dark anymore.

Some of the other bloggers should learn proper grammar or at least how to spel.

Al is right! The Republicans need to sit back and let President Obama do what has to be done.Whether they agree or not, they had their chance and need to wait for their turn in the next election.

What's the big deal bringing the Gitmo prisoners to the U.S. They're already here and The U.S. is already on top of it.We have Manson, the Uni-bomber ...locked up and they aren't a threat to us anymore.Cheney is just talking out his rear end.

Of course the former VP is constantly talking it up....never saw or heard him during eight years of criminal intent!......Now he can't stay off TV or in the press, because he wants to divert attention from his past deeds....he should be under a prosecutorial microscope, not the media lens....and, oh by the in the press just feed into his current plot to avoid prosecution! Shame on you for making him suddenly so important. Ask him how many dollars Haliburton and its subsidiaries ripped off the USA...also in the name of fighting terrorism!
This is all just too disgusting.

The president is going to give his speach today, and you the media are going to cover a WAR CRIMINAL on the same day. The media shoud not even cover Mr Cheneys speach !!!! This is part of what makes it so hard for the President and his people to get anything done. It's a sad day when we give a WAR CRIMINAL this kind of coverage.

Comment about the 5 police officers in Alabama, praise god they were fired! They fired 5 but there was six involved? This needs to be happening all over this country. Police brutality has gone rampant and its gotta stop! Hopefully now these cops face criminal charges just the same as you and I would! This is why we cant effectively tell our children that the cops are your friends and you can trust them, because the truth of the matter is we cant, and I wont teach my son to trust them until major changes occur in all of our police departments!

If the cameras at CNN did not "roll" at any Cheney events, very, very little coverage of what he had to say would surface - except on Fox Noise – and he would soon shut up if he had no press following him! He had his day.... now he should just "virtually disappear" like Bush!
