
If you're like millions of parents you rub sunscreen all over your kids before they head out the door.
But experts are saying you might want to wait because a new study says millions of children and teens are not getting enough vitamin D. Seven out of ten, in fact. And there's more.

It is important to get all of the facts before limiting your child's sunscreen. I've found that giving my own children about 10 to 15 minutes in the sun before applying sunscreen has worked well and my children don't have Vitamin D issues. Your own child may need more or less exposure depending on various factors, so be smart about it and get the scoop from your child's pediatrician about your own child's needs first.
