I love how it always goes back to "BUSH AND CHENEY." Last time I checked, they aren't in office anymore. Liberals can't stand to be critiqued...makes me laugh.

    Jo,

Pres. Obama hates America and is trying to bankrupt and destroy the United States as fast as he can before someone stops him. He uses Saddam Housein's tactics of intimidation to get what he wants which is government takeover of this country. Obama has caused the recession to worsen and massive unemployment, taken over major portions of our auto industry, financial institutions and not attempting to take over our healthcare system. He is a liar twisting facts. America needs to wake up quick.

I think these town meetings with all the anti health care sentiment are drummed up by the Republicans. Period. I'm sure you noticed how dark the voting was for the second 100 days. From the first moment the poll opened, it was flooded with negative votes. These people have become sort of terrorists. They have nothing to offer so they tear down those working to create something. I found it easy to understand that the work this administration is doing to turn this country around is only partway done. Everyone one I know understands this. maybe too many people want instant success? No such thing, alas.

Universal health care? Well, lets listen. Civilized crowds need to listen before blasting. Once the information has been put out for all to hear, civilized questions and answers should follow. Disruptions by uninformed crowds of people are not intelligent. Most of these protests come from people who draw conclusions from other people who draw conclusions and lash out before getting their facts straight. Lets stop the stupidity and become more civillized.

I think he's doing fine – sticking to the Democratic Adgenda – we elected him to do that,

I am 61- and disabled. We need good health care.

I do think that Obama's Election was too much for the Republicans. I never noticed the racism until now. I'm nearly white-part Indian. They never disliked me before. Now I'm and off-white guy living with a girl who isn't white and I am completely surrounded by "cliques" with arsenals of automatic weapons and I am beginning to get worried.

You know who are being treated like the Jews in WWII? It's the people who don't have insurance, it's the individual who have to buy his own insurance. Who is the Hitler? It's the Republicans and the insurance companies who want to deny people health care by dening the health insurance or deny coverage by exclusions. Go figure, they are the Hitler here. Don't let them fool you.
We can help people all around the world but we can't help our own people here because the Republican and the health insurance companies are greedy. They are so greedy they want to chose who will live or die to increase their profit.
If you want to kill people go out and protest and deny people health insurance, enable the true Hitlers.

It's really amazing to me how anyone can talk about performance without establishing the baseline that the President inherited on day one of his term. Let's look back. First, everything he started with on day 1 was inherited from a conservative republican in office for 8 years. That included an economy that was in a deep dive going over the cliff toward a depression. Countries around the world who looked up to the US as a model had completely reversed their opinion and now viewed us as an arrogant bully who couldn't be trusted. We had been placed in the same company as Sadam Hussein. Healthcare Insurance companies were constantly being critisized for withholding care, canceling coverage when individuals got sick, and denying access to life saving treatments all in the name of profit. Couple that with the inability to secure any affordable insurance if you're self employed or unemployed and the fact that our cost are the highest in the world and our quality equivalent to Sudan. Finally, we were engaged in 2 wars that most sane people would argue only 1 was justified. Move forward to today and we have an economy that did not go over the cliff and is on the mend. Again, most sane people would agree that sustainable economic improvement will take years not days to take hold. The view of America from abroad is on the mend as well. Trust in America is not where it needs to be but as is the case with people, 1 act of distrust requires numerous acts of trust before you can become trustworthy again. It's refreshing to see our friends abroad saying positive things about us after the disaster of the conservative republican administration. Granted, the debate on healthcare has gotten very confusing but what's more amazing is that the debate is void of the reality of the current system that has caused the crisis we are now in. I have healthcare insurance and would welcome a single payer system in a heart beat. All the horrible examples of poor care in "socialist" systems can be seen in the same form in our system. I give the President an A on healthcare because he knows the truth and continues to press for change that will negatively affect the fat cats who profit from killing Ameircans. Finally, we're reducing troops in a war we all know is unjustified and refocusing on a war that was justified. After years of neglect for the war we engaged in to retaliate for the most horrific act on our soil, we are finally focusing on getting the perpetrators that killed over 3,000 innocent Americans. This country is moving in the right direction because of the Obama administration and for that I give the President an A. The job is incomplete, but heading toward healing.

When it comes to Health Care. I think the problem with these protesters getting so violent is because the Republicans are lying to them. They are getting them afraid they are going to end up like the people President Obama is trying to help. The Republicans just about have them thinking they are going to be treated like the Jews during World War II.

100 – 200 days / Grades?: This is alot of baloney. I guess everyone thought that by electing Obama president that he would snap his fingers and all of these problems would go away. Sorry folks, it took us many years to get in this position and it is not going away overnight!
What our President has done is to finally get people off their rear ends and actually discuss/fight over issues that, NO ONE, wanted to touch.
It doesn't matter if President Obama's plans will improve our lives and our country. Now it's politics as usual with the accusations, stone throwing, and whatever. Republicans will not allow anything good to come out of this because they realize they would be an extinct party.
DUH, open your eyes, you darn near got voted out of everything. These so called "Blue Dog" democrates. What the heck is that? Bottom line is that now EVERYONE is coming up with their own plan and says it is the best? Where the heck were all of you before? Taking $$$ from those that are against any changes?

Some say to vote the bums out? I agree. Let's start with this group pushing to change our land into something out of China!! He had plenty of time to screw things up!! He took a stimulas package and spent it on the demos like a little kids Christmas party! Now we&our kids& thier kids ....get to pay this back! Take a real good look at what the stimulas package was ACTUALLY spent on! And, he is going to ask for more? And, again, NO! This has not one thing to do with this mans color! Its time for you to STOP using your race as an excuse for failures! Failures have nothing to do with what color that you are! Failures have to do with the lies told to the American People, the irresponsible spending practices for lavish trips and gifts, and the "more that obvious" TAKEOVER of the American People and its Constitution! We voted hime in not caring what color he was!! What would it matter now? It matters not one ounce! His appearant UnAmerican acts are speaking loudly all for themselves! We simply HATE what this man has done to this country and the sad direction that he is rushing us towards as a People! You guys have to, once again, get your head out of the clouds. Not a color issue, so leave the rainbow out of it, for once! It does not apply! Hes just done a really bad job! But, if you stand by and allow this guy to socialize your country, you as a people lose all of your Constitutional Rights! If he did not believe in OUR Constitution to begin with ...then he should NEVER be a president! You must first believe in what WE stand for! He gets an F for his deeds as a president, not for his color!! When we asked for "Change", this IS NOT what the American People were asking for. He took advantage of a situation. We now need a change....They all need to go! If they have a love for our country, its People and thier way of life, and a deep respect for the Constitution, SIGN ME UP!!!! Next time, don't lie!! Keep your words true and faithful.

Unbelieveable! People who are so enamored by the color of the president ARE the racists, not the people who are concerned and questioning his stance on health care and his push to socialize this country.

These polls do not seem to be accurate, how can a poll of a few thousand people speak for the whole country. I think that the only people really following this information are political junkies. Many people are worried about paying their bills, keeping their homes, and protecting their children. I am almost see why the grade of the media is low. In two days, no one is going to remember this stuff. Where are the real journalist, who are covering news we care about. Can you explain to the people who do not want health care sponsored by the government, that medicaid and medicare are sponsored by the government, and the care for wounded soldiers is also sponsored by the government. When is someone on CNN, MSNBC, and Foxnews going to start doing some reporting that matters.

Where have all the people gone? A few people are turning our world upside down-the lights are on, but is no one home? If we love 'racism', 'socialism', 'elitism' and 'destructivism' of American values by a few power hungry individuals, we can all live in the dark for a little while longer. I hope that this poll sends a huge message to congress so that they will start reading documents that affect all of us before they allow laws to pushed down our throats that will affect us and our children for generations to come...

Why all the fuss Americans...What little the state run media told you and showed you about this man, should have been a clue of what direction this country would be taken. This direction is not as much about being un-american as it is about being European...Mr Obama told you what he would do...How he would get it done...And, how quickly he would have to do it...(before 2010)...As with any government giveaway program, it comes with strings attached...FREEDOM! Thank you for giving me the freedom to sit on my a__ and wait for you to take care of me...All I have to do is sell my soul and sell out my fellow Americans. I've made my share of mistakes...I'm probably making one as I speak...And I'm sure I will be making some more real soon...but as long as I have breath I will never again step into that unemployment line with my hand out.

I give Obama a D- for the time he has been in office. All he does is talk. He is a good talker as long as he has a teleprompter in front of him but he is beginning to sound like a broken record at all of these town hall meetings. What does he think he is doing, still campaigning? He needs to get off of his soap box and stay in the White House and work instead of running all over the country and abroad. How much is this costing the taxpayers? I do not agree with all of his spending. This country is going to hell in a hand basket with him as President. As far as his health care plan, that will be a disaster if it passes which I hope to God it never does.

    August 6, 2009 at 9:37 pm |
  18. lottie

I give OBAMA an A. He did not make the problems facing this country. He came to the job to help. He is trying to lead the country toward some solutions. Our country needs a public opiton for health care. We already have government run health care, it is called MEDICARE, MEDICAID, VA Health care. And the government does a better job than the insurance companies.
If we all moved toward the center just one step we could get something done.

This whole so called grading of the first 100 days under the situation the Pres. had to take on is just plain silly. When did you do such a grading for George W Bush? After eight years he left this country in shambles. Where were then. Many people do not have access to a computer or Internet . If you read the post you are only getting feed back from right wing undercover racist. Many of this simply hate the fact that we have a Black President. It has nothing to do with the questions you are asking. They simply hate the fact that a Black man rules as Pres.

I am a senior citizen and I think the congress should take their time and read the bill. I think congress should have the same health care they are trying to push through. Our health care is fine the way it is. The idea of letting the older americans not have the health care they need when they reach their later years is awful. Someone who is 85 may live 10 more years with the right health care. Read the bill and get it right or don't pass it.

Why are we still in the war? we were supposed to have withdrawn 6 months ago. We could save the tax payers a lot of money if we got out of this useless war. You people all lie about getting out of the war. People over there are never going to change their ways no matter how long we stay there.

his close association with william ayres-he lied
    absolutely no earmarks–he lied
    no lobyists–he lied
absolutely no taxes on lower income–he lied
"are you a socialist?"– we know he is.
how can he continue to lie and still be held credible?

People are talking about Obams's spending practices, how about Bush and his croonies? What did they do to put forth our country except start a war, where hundreds of thousands were killed or maimed including our brave service men and also the Iraq's. Not to mention the crimes committed in our county's name. Before the Republicans start throwing stones, they need to remember that they were elected and we ( the citizens) don't forget as easily as they do. They better be looking in their own party before being so "Holier than thou"

    August 6, 2009 at 6:01 pm |

Where are people getting this garbage from, that "Obaba wants all the seniors to die, and that he's like Hitler"? Who are they listening to? I'm a senior citizen and I don't get that impression. Maybe you should listen for yourself and not let others make your decision. I think I'm entitled to the same level of care that our "public servants in Washington have". And at the cost they have to pay for coverage.

The president has moved this country and the concerns of regular people and not the elite Washington Lobbyist who has only the goal of self interest. He has reached out to the country and the world as equals not from the safe vantage point of the White House. The economy is improving not for those out of a job and seek employment but how long was Bush /Chaney in office??? There are those who only spout and release hatred and untruths. Surely we could work together for the country and its people and we are a part of the world.
The President has worked for you. He deserves A+

    August 6, 2009 at 4:37 pm |
  38. Doris

I'd give Obama an A. He came into office facing a monumental task. Banks were failing and the enonomy was on the gutter. It took eight years for the country to tank like this and how can we expect things to turn around in a year even. It is simply not fair not to give him a chance when we see every day that all he is doing is trying to help keep this country strong. Enough with the hate.

Gee! Has it been 200 days ALREADY! How time flies when your terrified of loosing your civil liberties and a job, and a house, and a chance to go to a good school...the list goes on.

I gave him an F. The economy is in the tank and getting worse. His spending is way out of whack , and now he is pushing for socialized health care. We can not afford all of this spending!

history repeats itself, obama reminds me of jim jones, always about his agenda.when asked in the senate if the senators who have 10 health care options would take the same health care being forced on the people, senator gregg (dem) said i would not take it for my dog. get ready america, obama and the boys from chicago are mixing your kool-aid.

I feel that the president is doing a very good job, after the many messes he was left with, he is getting most back on track despite absolutely no
cooperation from the republicans. Who really are doing everything they can to make sure that we fail.

    August 6, 2009 at 2:35 pm |
  45. john connelly

Give Obama a chance! I think Obama is doing a great job. Bush and Chaney robbed this country blind. Since Obama has been in office he has got the stock market up. He has the auto industry moving and signed 44 new bills to help put this country back on track. What we need to do this next election is vote out the Republicans that keep trying to make Obama fail. The sooner we get rid of this poison that is working against our president and the good of the UNITED STATES, the better off our country will be. I LOVE MY COUNTRY...please, good people of the U.S., lets vote these bums out.

I just heard from a friend who says that they are teaching the health care community how to talk to people about dying instead of getting medical care they need. She heard this from a friend in the healthcare community

  47. Ann W

I have been thinking about what Obama is trying to do to the elderly and I believe he is trying to do the same thing Hitler did in WW2. Get rid of the disabled, the elderly, because they are causing us to much money and trouble. Pretty soon he will try to tell us where we can worship just like Hitler.

    August 6, 2009 at 12:51 pm |
  48. Phyllis wood

President Obama is telling the seniors of America to die because they are not being productive. His philosophy is all wrong. Its the seniors who have contributed to this country for years and deserve the right to good medical care. Also, he is trying to decrease the military budget so that we can't defend ourselves. I hope the congress realizes what he is up to. He also is trying to pass to much to soon.

    August 6, 2009 at 12:07 pm |
  49. Kathy B.

I would give President Obama a "D." He is restructuring our country...setting up czars who are accountable only to him (and not to the people), taking over private businesses, attempting to take over the healthcare field, etc. If he was actually trying to HELP resolve the recession, he would remove restrictions and get out of the way of the free market.

    It worked for Reagan....

Think I have to agree with yrobinson. For those of you that thought President Obama was going to fix things overnight, wake up. At least he came in with new ideas and plans and got things moving. I figure right now he is realizing just how screwed up our politicians and our system is. NO ONE was doing anything until he got in office, now everyone has their own plan and we are back to "politics as usual".

    August 6, 2009 at 9:18 am |
  51. Bernice

ybinson ...yes. You need to get a little educated before you blog. I agree! I fail him also!! A "big" fat F F F F!!! He even wants to now take OUR Constitutional right to freedom of speech off of you by asking you to turn in your neighbors if they do not agree with him! Gosh!! Does he have a database large enough to hold all of these names? It is now in the millions! People, we are being had! Remember we cut the F22's?? Too much cost to the taxpayers for a broken program?? Well, they diverted the money for all new first class jets so congress can now fly in class and comfort! Unbelievable! They always seem to be able to pull out yet one more LIE!

Doesn't the Bible tell a story in the book of Revelation about the evil man who comes out towards the end and want you to turn in your father? your family? The Bible said not to follow this man! Just a thought... people ....this is OUR country. This is NOT about healthcare... This is a takeover, pure and simple! I am not hired by insurance companies. I am not with Fox news! I am not even a Republican! I WAS A DEMOCRAT! WAS! I am moving over to independant. I believe in my country, its people, and in OUR wonderful constitution, that so many good men and women died trying to protect! PROTECT IT!

And for the clown that gave this administration an A....lmao! My whole house laughed a good one as we read that. Its an A alright, but we don't want to say what the "A" stands for! This has not one thing to do with the color of ones skin, friend. This has to do with the irresponsible spending practices done by this man and his party. This is happening because WE THE PEOPLE wish to save our blessed Constitution... Get your brain out of the rainbow. It really is not in the colors. He needs to be FIRED! What a horrible job he has done! We should have listened to Joe the plummer. He had more common sence than this whole administration does...if they were all wrapped together in one huge govt burrito!!

Speak up, before your chance to speak is gone. That will be the darkest day in American history. What a legacy you leave... lies and deception...

Unless the complainers above are making over 250 thousand a year their taxes haven't gone up a dime. If they are making more they certainly are not middle class wage earners.
Bush, with his fat cat tax cuts and war has driven the country to the verge of another great depression and bankruptcy.

    August 6, 2009 at 8:54 am |
  53. RJ

Look yRobison. its got nothing to do with color its has all to do with Obama taking my families money and giving it to poor people so they can buy cell phones, cars and homes all of which they couldnt afford without the free giveaways! How dare Obama play with peoples livelyhood! There used to be a time when people went without simply because they didnt have or earned the money necessary to buy these things! Newflash things have been going down since Reagan was in office and yes this includes Bill Clinton as well! It still does not give Obamahood the right to redistribute wealth from Middle to lower income! If he had done what he said he was going to do then we would have seen the rich finally pay their fair share but as usual it was less of a fight to steal it from the middle class than from the rich!

    August 6, 2009 at 8:12 am |
  54. RJ

I`d give Obama a big fat F! While he has helped some Americans but vast majority of middle class wage earners are being hammered by taxes and lies from Obama! Poor people have forever gone without thats just the way it is! I have never seen a poor person work really hard and still have nothing! Poor people should not be rewarded with my labor! I grew up poor and have had to work for everything I have! I never had any help nor did I ever recieve a free handout! If you needed $8000 just to qualify to buy a home you should have to go without and save a few more years and then buy your house! These same poor people who got the $8000 to help buy a home will lose this home due to they still cant afford to own their own home! I`m paying for people to buy new cars when I cant, I`m forced to pay off my gas guzzler and then forced to go buy a new one at full price! No one feels sorry for me so why should I feel sorry for the poor guy who couldnt otherwise afford these things! Enough of Obama-Hood! Thats it Obama keep on destroying the middle class, then these poor people wont have anyone to fall back on! Oh by the way I also didnt know Obama was going to stimulate Mexico either but over half of all highway reconstruction is being done by illegal aliens, and thats a fact! A lot of poor people could be working for that $8000 home tax credit and the $4500 car credit instead of raising the debt level for my grandchildren!

I have never tried to comment, but when I read what so many uneducated people have publicized on CNN, I could not sit still. As Americans, we can not just jump on any bandwagon without finding out what is really going on. This country has been going the WRONG way for 8 years during the GW Bush administration and 200 days isn't a magic pill that will make all of the horrible decisions made then go away. It takes time to make improvments and the economic times we are now living have never before occurred so the Obama adminstration has to think out of the box to find a way out of this Bush created hole! President Obama deserves an A because he did not cause what he has inherited and this task he has been given is one that seems almost impossible to recover from yet he is making strides to improve our lives. I fear that there are still too many people still stuck on color issues that want to see him fail solely for that reason and will not support anything President Obama does and that is a shame!

Lets start by saying I did vote for him but having said that I didnt realize I voted for Robin Hood! Joe the plummer was right all along when he opposed Obama because Obama wanted to redistribute the wealth. I didnt believe Joe at the time but since Obama has been elected he has not done one thing for my middle class family, all I have seen is more and more of the money I`ve earned stolen from me and given to someone who hasnt worked for it! If you need $8000 credit to buy a house then you dont need the house! If you need $4500 to buy a new car then you need to go without! No one ever said these things were a guarantee, and if you dont have the money then too bad, I shouldnt have to supplement peoples incomes who chooses not to help themselves! Obama was supposed to roll back the rich tax cuts but hasnt yet! Obama was supposed take from the rich and give back to the middle class! Obama was not to take middle class money and give it to the poor! He has lied to the American people and as sure as I sit here he will raise my taxes too! Enough of Obamahood, time to bring in an honest GOP and fix this mess he`s made worse! And I mean worse simply because my grandchilren will be paying for Obamas free giveaways to the poor!
