Washington Post Correspondent T.R Reid went around the world asking a simple question: "Can you fix my bum shoulder?"
He received a variety of treatments and spoke to doctors, health care experts, government officials and patients to help figure out how other countries provide quality health care at a reasonable cost.
Reid describes his journey in his new book "The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care." He joined Kiran Chetry on CNN's "American Morning" Tuesday.
Frankly, in the long term we will have to take the profit motive completely out of the Healthcare Insurance side of the question. Put the profit into to the prevention, care and innovation side. I just don't see why companies and politicians should profit on people's misseries.
You'd think a morning anchor would know how to pronounce the first name of President Carter's wife.
To the gentleman who has a bum shoulder. I had the same until I used 'life wave' patches which is an American invention, now my pain has gone. You can obtain these through the internet. I would also like to mention, don't trust drugs, drugs are killing more people than the illness itself, I am 79 years old and very fit never have I been to a doctor in all my life. Mark pace has asked me to host a radio program over world on line because of what I know, but I have declined because it will be too dangerous for me, but at the same time these are the things all of the American people should know about. For a start, the power of religion and politics. I have not seen or heard of my family for 47 years because of a religious cult in Australia who should be banned for the brain washing they use on our children and adults alike. Our government will do nothing about this cult which is counterpart to kidnapping, 2 grandsons & 2 granddauughters plus 8 Great grandchildren I have never seen or am allowed to see because of their involvement with this cult. Heart wrenching to say the least.
