I'd like to see Rob stop and chat with Mr. Carlos Ghosn at Nissan. Mr. Ghosn has done a great job and keeping Nissan going; however, maybe Rob can ask Mr. Ghosn what he intends to do about the 1996 & 1997 Pathfinders that cannot get registration because of Nissan's faulty "Check Engine Light". DMV has flagged this as a huge problem and those of us who happen to own this vehicle are now faced with losing our autos if we can't afford to have their faulty part repaired. Is Mr. Ghosn even aware of this problem? Is he willing to do anything about it, like maybe step up to the plate, recall this part, and have it repaired for those of us who will be without automobiles? I've backed their product for over 25 years and will now be a disabled person hobbling down the street with my cane to get to doctor appts or the grocery store. I'd like Mr. Ghosn to explain why this Nissan defective part is not being taken care of. I will lose my '97 Pathfinder in less than 6 months now. Mr. Ghosn's been great for Nissan, what about Nissan owners? Thanks for your time Rob. Not a super fun assignment, but one that I believe is important, especially in this day of economic stress.

Rob,
A wonderful place to visit this coming Labor Day weekend is Warm Springs, Georgia. This was the home of FDR and it is here that he came looking for a cure for his polio. He donated his entire trust fund to the Rehabilitation Center after his death and it is still used today for that purpose.
The area is beautiful, rich in history and the original pools are filled with the natural spring water only once a year, every Labor Day for people to use.
His "Little White House" is a great place to visit. This is where he died.
If you come, be sure to experience the Wild Animal Safari. Everyone who goes there calls it the Slime show as the animals stick their heads in your vehicle to get their treats (be sure to rent their vans). Hysterical!

Dear Rob,
We are members of the Hancock Yacht Club, located at Marine Corp Air Station, Cherry Point, NC. Our yacht club has been in existence for over 40 years and continues to be a strong and involved club. The yacht club is comprised of active duty and retired military personel and their families. We hold an annual Regatta each July that attracts sailboats from up and down the Neuse River.
We have started a new tradtion that we think you might be interested in attending.. The Blind Dinghy Races. The point of the race is that your dinghy is able to complete a pre-established course and cross the finish line. Two people to a dinghy. The person who is actually using the oars to get throught the course is blind-folded, only getting verbal directions from the other person in the dinghy. Each person has a "liquid refreshment" that has to be consumed before the finish line is crossed. As you can expect, this is a hilarious, fun and loud event not only for the participants but for the cheering section on the docks!
Hope you will consider coming to our race (date has not been set yet for this year, weather has not been cooperating, can you do something about that???)
We would be honored and pleased to have you attend/particpate in this event.
Sincerely,
Jewt and Susan Collyar

Hello Rob,
I hope you can come check out the Museum of Appalachia's 30th Tennessee Fall Homecoming, (near historic Norris, TN) to be held Oct. 8-11, 2009. Held on the 60 acre farm/village of the Museum of Appalachia, the Homecoming is a mecca for lovers of Old-time, Bluegrass, Southern Gospel, Folk & Country music. Music is played all day long on 5 unique stages.
And it’s much more than music. The Museum’s mission is to preserve the Appalachian heritage for future generations—hence the demonstrations of old-time skills like molasses-making, rail-splitting, spinning, sheep herding, and much more.
Homecoming includes scores of artisans making authentic Appalachian pottery, baskets, wood carvings, musical instruments, quilts, artwork, and countless other hand-crafted wares. Food vendors serve up tasty Appalachian “vittles”—from a full meal of barbeque or cornbread and beans to special treats like fruit cobblers, homemade ice cream, and apple butter.
Please check out our website http://www.museumofappalachia.org
Let us know if you can come visit, we'd love to have you!

Rob, come on down for the "unveiling" (literally) of the "Pin-Up Boys of Atlantic Shores” calendar in Virginia Beach Virginia, during the city's annual Neptune Festival! A new twist on pin-up girls, this unique fundraising calendar features 14 calendar guys, (all fellow residents at the Atlantic Shores Retirement Community), ranging in age from 69 to 90, who bare it all (behind strategically placed props) for a 2010 “nearly nude” calendar, with sales benefiting the local Volunteer Rescue Squad.
The fifteen-month calendar will spotlight the individual careers and interests of each model - from a classical vocalist to a chemistry teacher, and a Bonsai tree culitvator to a 70-year old active Emergency Medical Technician. All will be creatively obscured to create the illusion of nudity in a range of comical vignettes.
The “Pin-Up Boys’” first public appearance will be on their own float in the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26. Come ride along on the float with these spunky seniors! http://www.atlanticshores.com

What a set up that town meeting with Senator McCain is !!!! 3:00 monday . Located in a church with a bunch of probably "bused in" Senior citizens from the local nursing homes . All they care about is to maintain their medicarefor a few more years , not one showed any concern for the younger generations. Shame on the Media for siding with the medical industries, I can see the trand in the last week .More and more Americans will go in bankrupcy because of the cost of medical care and the price of medications 3 times more than in Europe .

Google first of all should have the right, as a search engine, provide access to blogs such as this one. They should not provide personal information as it violates, I feel, the privacy and don't we have a privacy protection plain in the us, as they gave information to a third party(as defined by a seperate person) with the first party being the bloger and 2nd party google. Thirdly the bloger posted on a US company and from what I know the person was on U.S. soil.
I feel there should be common global laws on the Internet as I feel it is a different "land."
My question for u how old u think I am???
If u guessed 16 ur right lolololololol

If someone has the nerve to post pictures that will hurt the other innocent party's reputation, then that person' identity needs to be exposed and the individual dealt with accordingly. That way people will think twice b4 trying to cyber bully.

Here's a perfect Fall place to visit! The Covered Bridge Festival in Rockville, Indiana. Parke County in western Indiana has the most covered bridges of anyplace in the country–yes, more than Vermont or Madison County of the movie fame.
Besides the bridges, the weather is usually lovely and the fall foliage is often magnificent. The Festival starts on October 9th and runs through the entire next week. I'm flying up from San Antonio to attend, and to see family as well. You'll be glad you went. No place lovelier on earth (at least of the many places I've been).

Hi Rob!
You should come to the Elvis Festival in Dewey Beach, DE at the Rusty Rudder on Sept. 25/26th. They have various Elvises (or is it Elvi?) participating in singing and doing their best impersonation. They eliminate them down to a winner. Old Elvis versions and younger. Some of them look like him but can't sing – some can sing but don't really look like him. You can sit with us, and we'll try not to embarrass you, ha!
Can you do Elvis, Rob? Ya kinda look like him..

I think you should come to Pittsburgh, PA. The G20 will be held here next month and I was just downtown for the first time in a few months and they have done a great job, making our city shine and put its best steel building forward. Also, here in Pittsburgh we have not one but 2 sports teams that have one the big game, The Steelers won their 6th superbowl and The Penguins brought home the Stanley Cup. There is an abundance of activities here, from tours to the outdoor trails it is a great city. I am not a native to Pittsburgh or even PA. I am from St. Augustine, Florida and I would give anything to go home but for the past 10 years the City of Pittsburgh has grown on me. Thank You for your Time. Kristen Gorsuch

Dear CNNAMFix
I Think Rob should go to Minocqua, Wisconson for Beef o' Rama; that is held on the last Saturday of September. I think Rob would do very well in the contest that this festival is based around. In this fest all the local food stores donate beef roasts in which all the local merchants in the down town area of Minocqua will roast outside of their store fronts on grills. The merchants than have to come up with a them where they than have to dress themselves, the beefs, and a float according to. The merchants beefs are than judged in various contests like; best tasting, best them, and so on. At the end of the contest the beefs are paraded down the street on the floats that were made for them and taken to the local park; where they are sliced up for beef sandwichs. All the proceds are than given to the charity of choice for that year. In the park you will also find venders selling all kinds of crafts, and other food items. The party goes on all night with great music and some yummy adult beverages. What more could you ask from a great small town in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

Dear Rob: A worthwhile trip would be to Rockton, Illinois in early December for the CHRISTMAS WALK WEEK END LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE. The parade attracts more entries every year and is greatly enjoyed in the area. The parade takes place on a Saturday night just after dark, and each float is lighted, many with moving lighted parts. The businesses along the route are darkened with only the floats lighted up. (Rockton is located a few miles off I90, approximately 10 miles north of Rockford and 90 miles northwest of Chicago.

Come see dogs have a blast....while they go airborne!
Friday, Sept 25 ...we'd love you to come to Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in FL (an easy trip to/from Atlanta)...experience one of the premier dog-dock jumping competitions in the country at The Village of Baytowne Wharf! It brings smiles to everyone who watches, and the doggy participants love it.
Ultimate Air Dogs participants can try for a variety of jumps–long and high. Dogs travel from far and wide to show off their skills through a series of splashes. Watch as they race off the dock, soar in the air and splash into the lagoon. Long distance jumping is the main feature of the event with a diagonal jump competition as well.
Rob, if you have a dog, bring your dog too and let him/her try. Jumping divisions range from Novice to Expert. To register visit ultimateairdogs.net.
In conjunction, with the Ultimate Airdog Southern Championship that day and weekend, the Children’s Volunteer Health Network is hosting Cottages for Canines. These one of a kind “doggie dream houses" will be on display in the Village. All proceeds benefit the Children's Volunteer Health Network.
Take care, and thanks for the great reports!
We hope to see you Friday, Sept 25!

PA. a few years ago and rediscovered country "sports" like barrel racing, demolition derby (favorite involves school buses), horse team sled pulls, shovel sled riding, etc. There's a county or grange fair happening almost every week. Tuning into the Pennsylvania Farm Show in January (PCN) I can watch my favorite competitions (horse teams, sheep to shawl - competition spinning/weaving).
There's a whole different world outside of Atlanta and New York. Kudos to "yinz" (I'm just outside of Pittsburgh) for covering these wonderful events. THIS is America!

Rob should appear next at the LifeLight Christian music festival outside Sioux Falls, SD. It is the largest in the country, I believe, as last year they estimated attendance at 250,000. It is held in a field next to a waterpart, of all things! Very cool festival, lots of good Christian rock bands, not the boring stuff! Tons of vendors, food, several stages, etc.
The festival runs September 4-6 this year. Tell Rob to come visit South Dakota!!

I want to interview the Brazilian President Lula about America using alternative fuel derived of sugar beets since Brazil's climate is perfect for sugarcane,as our nation could and should commence doing the same with sugar beets.
Sugar beets can be grown in almost every state, sugarcane can not.
Sugar beets could be grown via farm subsidies equal to that of how corn ethanol is funded.
Sugar beets could out perform corn, leaving corn instead for global food supplies.
Sugar beets cost less money to convert into ethanol as starch, less processing required, less energy used to make ethanol from sugar beets instead of corn.
End results, get interview with President Lula and he will tell us American citizens without any political b.s. session.
So, show up in Pittsburgh and make it happen, since all media outlets are going to be in the BURG anyways.
if you need a translator, am fluent in Portuguese, otherwise bring your own.

I think Rob should come to Bangor Maine to see the Music Festival.
Its scheduled for Aug 28 29 and 30.The festival attracts over 120,000 from all over the country. Besides he should know where Maine is. He never reports any weather conditions from here. CNN weather coverage stops at New York/Boston. We might feed him a lobster or two if he shows up.

Timing Is Everything…
Weston Launches ReadyTown!
With storms developing in the Atlantic, the City of Weston has launched ReadyTown on its city website to help residents be prepared in the event of an emergency.
Weston is the first city in the nation to offer this new program. ReadyTown is an all-hazards on-line preparedness tool to assist the community in preparing for an emergency. It is a simple, step-by-step, on-line guide to building an emergency preparedness plan for individuals or families. It is easy and actually fun to click through, which is why it works. It’s quick, easy and does the work for you.
ReadyTown consists of three main sections:
1) Make A Plan – includes Emergency contacts, Family meeting places, Important home numbers, Grab-and-go folder, and Special needs planning.
(2) Build A Kit – categories include: Food & Water; First aid; Personal hygiene; Clean air items; Baby needs; Lighting; Communication, Transportation; and Pets
(3) Learn to Prepare – provides an extensive resource library
After assisting users in making an emergency plan and completing checklists of essential survival items, the program will send the user email reminders on what still needs to be completed and a list of what items on the checklist must still be purchased (users can unsubscribe from reminders). Along with printing it out, the preparedness plan can be emailed to a personal email account so that it can be accessed from anywhere at any time, and also sent to family members and caretakers.
ReadyTown is an excellent fit for Weston’s Emergency Preparedness education program. Will you be ready in a disaster? Visit the Weston ReadyTown site today.
We encourage everyone, not just residents, to utilize ReadyTown and make their emergency plans now. To access ReadyTown just go to the City of Weston website at http://www.westonfl.org. Under Residents & Visitors, click on Hurricane Information; or the direct URL is:
http://www.westonfl.org/ReadyTown_Agent2.aspx
ReadyTown is created by OneStorm, an emergency preparedness company that specializes in the development of online planning tools and resources. The ReadyTown application allows governments to customize the program for their specific community and host it directly on their own website.
In May 2009, OneStorm was presented with Florida’s Public Information Award by Governor Crist, which is granted to an individual, or organization that has developed an innovative and effective public education tool or program that has improved hurricane preparedness, response, recovery or mitigation in the State of Florida.

Wall Drug, Wall, South Dakota
Rob, We passed through Wall, SD on our way to Mount Rushmore back in the 70's and found this place very interesting & unique. Since then we've seen road signs all over the country and even in Europe showing the distance and direction to Wall Drug. If you get there, don't miss the Free Ice Water and watch out for the famed Jackalopes there. (Jack Rabbits with Antelope horns)
Wikipedia: Wall Drug earns much of its fame from its self-promotion. Billboards advertising the establishment can be seen for hundreds of miles throughout South Dakota and the neighboring states. In addition, many visitors of Wall Drug have erected signs throughout the world announcing the miles to Wall Drug from famous locations, treating it as a geodesic datum. By 1981 Wall Drug was claiming it was giving away 20,000 cups of water per day during the peak tourist season, lasting from Memorial Day until Labor Day, and during the hottest days of the summer.
To date, Wall Drug still offers free ice water, but as they have become more popular, they have started to offer free bumper stickers, signs to aid in promotion, and coffee for 5 cents. One popular free bumper sticker reads "Where the heck is Wall Drug?", "How many miles to Wall Drug?", and "Where in the world is Wall Drug?".

Here in Evansville, IN we have the 2nd LARGEST street festival every year. It is the first full week of October (5th – 10th).
The "West Side Nut Club" sponsors it, and provides lots of things to do. However, what the Fall Festival is famous for is the variety of food it has to offer. You can choose anything from a ProntoPup (Corndog), CornFritters, Walking Taco, Brain Sandwich, Fried Twinkie, Fried Oreos, to Frog Legs. Every year there is something different... last year I had a Kangaroo Burrito.
Just search "West Side Nut Club Fall Festival" and you can see for yourself! Hope to see you there!

Visit the Armada Fair in Armada, MI. It just 45 minutes north of Detroit and with the struggling economy of MI it would be good exposure to the area and for this small quaint little town. Small town feel just outside the big inner city. It is one of the oldest fairs and Friday there will also be a concert by Jimmy Wayne, country music star.

The semi-auto rifle is not an "Assault Rifle". By definition an assault rifle has to have an option of select fire. Meaning, semi auto, full auto or three round burst. I wish the media would start using the term assault weapon/rifle properly.

U.S. Virgin Islands! Perfect weather, except for the hurricanes! Event ideas: USVI Open / Atlantic Blue Marlin Tournament.
Welcome to the American Morning blog where you can get daily news updates from American Morning's reporters and producers. Join us for "the most news in the morning," weekdays from 6-9 a.m. ET, only on CNN.
Annual Hummingbird Migration Celebration will be at Strawberry Plains Audubon Center Sept. 11-13. Last year over 8,000 attended over the weekend. Tremendous speakers this year, bird study group tagging and releasing hummingbirds, nature vendors, nature hikes and wagon rides, beautiful venue. see http:\\strawberryplains.org
Welcome to the Seaport! How long will you be in Mystic today? I'd like to come by. I see some votes for Rhode Island, you'll have to visit Newport, RI this weekend, it's so close.
Rob, you should go to the War Eagle Fair, Oct. 15th-18th. Over 100,000 visitors come every year. Locally, it is known as the grandfather of craft fairs. People come in matching shirts custom made for the trip! The web site is http://www.wareaglefair.com

Please visit us in Port Jefferson, out on Long Island, NY. Every year we host an annual Howl-o-Ween parade for our favorite furry friends. The event has been growing with hundreds of people and pets showing up last year. The local police close the street for us and the proud dogs parade their costumes. You can check out the slide show on our website: http://www.fetchdoggies.com to see some of last year's stars! We even got invited to show a mini parade on the local news last year.
We hope you will join us in October for this extremely fun event!!
Rob, you should try the explosive event known as "Boomsday" in Knoxville, TN for Labor Day weekend. Makes the 4th of July look trivial.
A must see!!!! 24th Annual RACE FEVER benefiting the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, Friday, October 30 at the SPEED Channel Dome at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame on the grounds of the Talladega Superspeedway! Fast-paced event combining live, on-stage interviews with some of todays top NASCAR drivers, an over 200 item silent auction, incredible live auction containing once-in-a-lifetime race experiences, the opportunity to see and meet your favorite driver and much more! Oh...how can we forget the all-you-can-eat BBQ feast, great Southern hospitality and the SPEED Channel Dome filled with 1500 of the greatest race fans this side of the Mississippi??!!!!
All benefiting the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind – the world's most comprehensive education, rehabilitation and employment system serving children and adults who are deaf, blind and multidisabled. With five campuses and nine regional centers throughout the state, AIDB has been investing in the lives of thousands of infants, toddlers, children, adults and seniors who are challenged by hearing and vision loss for over 150 years.
Hello Rob,
I hope you can come check out the Museum of Appalachia's 30th Tennessee Fall Homecoming, (near historic Norris, TN) to be held Oct.
Rob,
October 3-11, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Worlds largest Hot Air Balloon Festival. the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

At this hour I mourn the passing of Senator Edward M. Kennedy for his long life commitment to public service. He was an inspiration to me in so many way, and he will be missed.
On August 25th, 2009, at approximately 10:36pm, I was infomed via my desktop, MSN that Ted Kennedy Died, and I would like to offer my sincerest sympathies to the family, and the nation.
It's a sad, sad evening.
Hey Rob, if you plan to continue your road trips during the fall, you gotta' come to Lewisburg, Tenn for the 7th annual Goats, Music & More Festival, October 9-11th!!
The Circleville Pumpkin Show "The Greatest Free Show on Earth"
Rob- you must attend the Circleville Pumpkin Show. It begins at noon on 10/21 for 4 days. Circleville, Ohio is only 25 miles south of Columbus so it's easy to get to. It's the largest & oldest festival in the great state of Ohio. Check out http://www.pumpkinshow.com/. Enjoy the 7 parades, the arts & crafts, the bands, the rides & games & most important the food. From the largest pumpkin pie to pumpkin burgers, pumpkin donuts, pumpkin burgers, pumpkin chili, pumpkin chili & even pumpkin pancakes you wil not go hungry! Have fun & enjoy the festival. Bring Robin Meade along, she is a Buckeye
Rob, we miss you in Portland. Always loved you when you were on K2. Still it sounds like it was a very smart move and a successful one as well. Congratulations on your success at CNN, the only place to get rellevant news. Glad I can still catch you on CNN.
Come to San Diego.. Its beautiful here!
Rob, everything you do on CNN is done well. You have a great smile, great physique (obviously you work out), and you seem to know your weather. I always listen up when you're up and chatting to us in the morning. Keep up the good work!
Marciano needs to come to Colorado during the second week in October because that is usually the time when the US ski season starts!
An annual friendly rivalry ensues each year between perennial early season openers Loveland and Arapahoe Basin, located on opposite sides of the Continental Divide with beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains.
Rob you can be one of the first people to take a run on opening day of the 2009/10 ski season in North America!
Go to http://www.als.net and see what fundraisers are happening across the country. go to http://www.augiesquest.org see what they have scheduled. Contact Nancy O'dell and see how you can help with raising awareness and publicizing what needs to be done for ALS to find a cure.
Turn the power of the airwaves into something that will be life saving difference for thousands dying the horrific death of ALS.

October 3-11,2009 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I would like to offer you a ride in my balloon to capture the experience of flying in a balloon with views of 700 others in flight at the same time.
You should visit the New York State Fair. August 27th – September 7, 2009. It's the summers hottest ticket, Syracuse, NY.
Website: nysfair.org
Hope to see you, take care.
He needs to come to St. Mary's county, MD for the Oyster Festival. There is oyster shucking contests and so on.
I am a military wife and you have no idea the amount of stress our families go through. I have been married for 17 years and my husband has been in the army 22 years. The last 6 years for my family have been very stressful and the military says they have all of these resources but the system is broken. There is not enough support for the families or the service members.
For September 11, why not come to the first high school that required its students to read "The 9/11 Commission Report"? That would be Engadine High School in Engadine, Mi. As the high school English teacher, I felt since its publication, that my students should know about this terrible and country changing event.
My website is:
http://engadine.eup.k12.mi.us/698738218144013/site/default.asp#
If you want some good eats with some good music you should come to the 30th annual Pig Out in the Park in Spokane Washington. September 2nd through the 7th.
http://www.spokanepigout.com/
Dear Rob: A worthwhile trip would be to Rockton, Illinois in early December for the CHRISTMAS WALK WEEK END LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE. The parade attracts more entries every year and is greatly enjoyed in the area. The parade takes place on a Saturday night just after dark, and each float is lighted, many with moving lighted parts. The businesses along the route are darkened with only the floats lighted up. (Rockton is located a few miles off I90, approximately 10 miles north of Rockford and 90 miles northwest of Chicago.
ACD fesitval in Auburn IN labor day weekend. World's largest antique car auction 30 yrs running, I think it would be a nice pc for your show
Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Free admission, but bring quarters. Some of the games date back to the 1800s. A wonderful collection of games and memorabilia. Too much to take in at one visit.
My husband and I live in a motor home and tour the U.S. This museum is one of the most interesting places we've stopped.
Donna
i think you should go to Galveston for the 1 year anniversary of IKE. for that whole week they are planning different events to help raise money and other things for the city.
There are 2 places you could go here in Indiana, Drag racing at Clermont IN. Watch motorcycles go up to almost 200 mph. Another place would be the Antique tractor show in Elnora In. Sept 10-13. Go back in time to see the old settler's way, good food and fun.
West Mont would love to have Rob attend our 17th annual Black Tie Blue Jean dinner on September 11 in Helena, Montana. This event, which is dedicated to raising funds for the individuals with developmental disabilities, is always the Friday after Labor Day and just happens to fall on 9-11 this year. Having Rob here would help us underscore the importance of the day and why Americans must continue to move forward despite what is going on around us. For more information about West Mont you may go to http://www.westmont.org or feel free to contact me directly – Kris Bakula, Co-President
Rob should visit his "old stompin' grounds" in Portland, Oregon to feature the Oregon Zoo's newest exhibit, Predators of the Serengeti. The exhibit opens to the public September 12, but we can accomodate Rob a few days prior.

From the Cool Globes website at http://www.coolglobes.com/houston.php:
This fall, Houston's newest urban park, Discovery Green, will be home to "Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet." The public art exhibit will feature 50 super-sized Cool Globes that each convey a different message about what ordinary citizens can do to combat global warming. The five-foot diameter, seven-foot-tall globes will be decorated by local, national and international artists.

Go to Oswego NY:
Visit your old college and see the Classic Race at Oswego Speedway Labor Day weekend.
Not sure how long you will be doing this, but Punkin' Chunkin' would be a fun trip for Rob. It's an annual event in rural Delaware to see who can shoot a pumpkin the furthest. You would not believe some of the cannons/contraptions that people come up with. Link is below.

Good morning,
How about sending Bob to New England for an old style New England Country Fair, in particular, the 121st annual Windsor, Maine Aggricultural Country Fair, running from August 30, 2009 to September 7th, 2009.
There's something there for the whole family, from animal exhibitions, to rides of all kinds on the midway, to country music stars performing, to a great selection of foods, all done with a touch of Maine Old World quality. Send Bob and his family up here for a Labor Day week's worth of fun, and bring your families up here too for a great time!
Sincerely,
Paul George
Have Rob come to the Finger Lakes region for "the end of summer". One of the events here in Canandaigua, NY, is the "Ring of Fire" on September 5th this year. At dusk, all those around the lake light flares at dusk-after the initial fire is lit on the top of Bear Hill. It commemerates our link to the Indians that once inhabited this area. It is a beautiful site! He could also enjoy some of the wonderful wineries in the area.
September is certainly the month of community fairs across much of the U.S.. I think it would be great to show the world America's oldest fair: http://www.yorkfair.org
Good morning
Send Rob to John's old stomping grounds. Have him visit Toronto and the 175th year for the Canadian National Exhibition. Garbage has been all cleaned up!!
The tractor pull segment is GREAT! I moved to rural W. PA. a few years ago and rediscovered country "sports" like barrel racing, demolition derby (favorite involves school buses), horse team sled pulls, shovel sled riding, etc.
He should go to Tonapah, Nevada. Used to be a silver mining community but it does have a nice little museum and the remains of a silver mine. We so enjoy being there.
Send Rob to the Champlain Valley Fair in Burlington VT
Head out to Wharton Texas October 14-17 for the World Powered Parachute Championships http://www.powerchutes.com/PPCC/2009.htm. The best of the best PPC pilots will be competing for top prizes.
Also September 17-20 at Claremore Oklahoma is the Powrachute Extravaganza http://www.teampowrachute.com/default.asp. This is a fly-in event with the highlight of launching 200 powered parachutes at one time. Door prizes include a new powered parachute. Lots of vendors and events.
Also in the Reno area, the 50th Annual Virginia City International Camel Races are scheduled for Sept 11, 2009:

It would be nice to see Bob give some of the most talented children of America and around the world more TV time and noteriety at the Little League World Series starting today in Williamsport, PA. These young boys, their coaches, volunteers, and parents give so much of their time to make this event an unbelievable success every year. GO THERE! Check it out!
Reno has 2 signature events that Rob could visit for a slice of local Americana: The 2009 Great Reno Balloon Race (www.renoballoon.com) and the 2009 Reno Air Races (www.airrace.org/ )
Rob's Road Show:
The Flying Monkeys of Burlington Vermont

This year is the 60th Old Threshers Reunion, running Sept. 3 – 7 in Mount Pleasant, IA.

Please show up in the City of Champions on days of September 24 and September 25.
Our city is the location for the G20 meeting.
https://www.pittsburghg20.org/index.aspx
Rod should head to florida Sept 4 – 6 for the Zumba Confence.
Can he Dance, work out and have fun?
Try his hand at Aqua Zumba, Kids Zumba, And just regular Zumba.
Not to mention he can dance with Instructors worldwide, and help raise money for charity at the Zumbathon.
Meet Beto and the whole gang.
September 15-20, Bardstown, KY. The Bourbon Festival. Check this site http://www.kybourbonfestival.com. Anything about the making of bourbon with all of the major distillers within the area. It is a fun time with a chance to know how bourbon is made. Think about it. The weather here is fine at that time of year. Look who i'm telling about weather.
Rob,
You need to come to the World's Largest Hot Air Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico, starting October 3-11,2009. Over 700 hot air balloons from all over the world will come to the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival.
I am a balloon pilot and have been flying for over 22 years. I would like to offer you a ride during the event. Wouldn't it be great to fly with 700 balloons and let your viewers see a birds eye view of this spectacular event.

Rob, we are planing a trip in the spring to Deadwood S.D. but we
would like you to check it out first to see if its worth the trip.We don't
know anyone who has ever been there but we have read alot of stories
about the history of the place and would like you to see if they are all
true. We live in Pa. and can't afford to go that far if it can,t live up to its
reputation. Ida and Bill from Pa.

Rob should definitely come to the Houston Hot Sauce Festival...September 19th and 20th., Go to http://www.houstonhotsauce.com for details! It would also be like a year anniversary from Hurricane Ike. Could do two stories with one visit!
I just saw your upcoming stops map on American Morning. It seems that geography is not a strong point for CNN. You may want to check out your Alabama marker placement. It appears you will be lost somewhere in Mississippi to me!
This morning Rob suggested going to the coon dog cemetery in Alabama, but the blue dot was on the map was in Mississippi.
Rob, u should return to Florida but this time round to SW Busch Garden and enjoy the true feeling of Africa safari animals.
lake of the ozarks mo. one of the biggest tourist lakes in the usa...

Hurricane Bill trumps the tractor races...Bermuda this Friday!
Not sure if someone already mentioned this, but you should stop by Michigan. There's Greenfield Village near Detroit: http://www.hfmgv.org/village/index.aspx AND the Hamtramck (pronounced Ham-tram-ick) festival is coming up Labor Day weekend. http://www.hamtramcklaborday.com/Home_Page.html. Mmm Polish food.
Show Michigan some love.
The semi-auto rifle is not an "Assault Rifle". By definition an assault rifle has to have an option of select fire. Meaning, semi auto, full auto or three round burst. I wish the media would start using the term assault weapon/rifle properly.
On August 28 there's a "Corvette at Carlisle" car show in Carlisle , PA. It's a pretty big corvette show.
Hey Rob, dont come to Michigan nothing left here but a bunch of dead factories and people on welfare! Thanks George Bush and Jennifer Granholm, thanks a lot!
May I suggest the Wine and Walleye Festival coming up this weekend in Ashtabula, Ohio? They have a website. For future visits, there is a Covered Bridge Festival in Ashtabula County (also in Ohio) the second full weekend in October. And there is an awesome Apple Butter Festival in Burton, Ohio, October 10-11th. It is everything apples at a Century Village. Have fun!
U.S. Virgin Islands! Perfect weather, except for the hurricanes! Event ideas: USVI Open / Atlantic Blue Marlin Tournament.
