ACORN workers allegedly gave prostitution tips

(CNN) - Two employees at the Baltimore, Maryland, branch of the liberal community organizing group ACORN were caught on tape allegedly offering advice to a pair posing as a pimp and prostitute on setting up a prostitution ring and evading the IRS.

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="The footage, which appears to have been edited in places, was recorded and posted online Thursday."]

The video footage - which has been edited and goes to black in some areas - was recorded and posted online Thursday by James O'Keefe, a conservative activist. He was joined on the video by another conservative, Hannah Giles, who posed as the prostitute in the filmmakers' undercover sting.

The video shows the pair approaching two women working at the ACORN Baltimore office and asking them for advice on how to set up a prostitution ring involving more than a dozen underage girls from El Salvador.

One of the ACORN workers suggests that Giles refer to herself as a "performing artist" on tax forms and declare some of the girls as dependents to receive child tax credits.

"Stop saying prostitution," the woman, identified by the filmmaker as an ACORN tax expert, tells Giles. The other woman tells them, "You want to keep them clean ... make sure they go to school."

to jay m: you say, "setup, everyone knows Conservatives hate ACORN" yes, and your point is? It seems apparent to me, with that statement, that conservatives are right to hate ACORN. You are merely stating the obvious; That conservatives knew something was wrong with ACORN long before the liberals did, or the libs knew, but didn't want to acknowledge it. Either way, to me it proves that conservatives were either smarter or more honest, or both. This tape didn't look doctored to me in any way. When the tape is released in it's entirety, everyone will see that it doesn't matter if you cut pieces out of it to be able to fit them on a 1 hr news broadcast, it's still the same theme and situation. This tape didn't look any different to me that something you see on 20/20 or Primetime and no one questions the validity of those shows or videos. It's only because it's Acorn and Obama use to work for them and our tax dollars are going to their organization to fund on party and one party only . Face it, that is the ONLY reason.

Just as President Obamha requested the nation to inform him of "fishy" statements regarding healthcare mis-characteristation of its policy, why shouldn't we inform him and the public of the misdeeds of ACORN since ACORN would have been willing to engage in fraudulent conduct at taxpayers expense.

I have heard so much about ACORN fraud here and ACORN fraud there that I would really like to see an in-depth look at the organization-especially when it receives so much of our tax dollars. Why are the news agencies ignoring possible abuse when we learn things such as Obama paid ACORN $800,000 to register voters (Investors Business Daily report) and that Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank tried to get 20% of every tax dollar of the stimulus packege to go to ACORN (New York Times report). CNN, convince Americans that you are more than just advertisement for politicians and do your job!

Although this wasn't good, what took them so long to release the video. I watched the video in youtube, and it was back in 2005. This is an isolated issue, and I am sure not every person working there is like this.

Wow, the bias in this report is absolutely disgusting. Accept the facts please, this is a cut and dry situation, and using the word "allegedly" in this situation shows nothing but ignorance.

Tax cheats have been around forever...lots of folks like this have shared dependents to qualify for Earned Income Credit and Head of Household filing status for years. That's what prompted the IRS to require SSNs for every try to really track who the "parents" are. It's the same folks who have found the best way to live off government handouts instead of really working like the rest of us taxpayers.

I sure hope this isn't common place for that organization. I am sure they do a lot of good for people that need it, but this guy went over the line and hope he is just a bad apple.
