Here are the big stories on the agenda today:
Outrage in a New York City suburb over Libyan Leader Moammar Gadhafi pitching a tent on property Donald Trump owns. He's in the New York area for the United Nations General Assembly this week. The State Department says he'll use the tent for entertaining. Full story
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is promising to seek leniency for three American hikers who've been held captive in his country for more than seven weeks. He'll be addressing the U.N. General Assembly tonight. Those hikers’ mothers sent a letter to Iran’s president. Did he respond? One of them will join us live, with her plea.
New warnings about an alleged terror plot that targeted trains and subways in New York City. Authorities say stadiums, hotels and entertainment complexes should also be on high alert... so- called “soft targets.” We pride ourselves on being an open society. So, how do we protect these wide open spaces with lots of people coming and going, every day? Jason Carroll is digging deeper this morning. Full story
It’s the video you can’t miss this morning. A parking pole saves a child’s life. It was the only thing between the car, and a little girl. The car ended up stuck in the air! And the girl ended up... OK! And everyone will be talking about her today. Watch
As an Obama supporter I am saddened by the hostility of the right....I think there is a reluctance to "walk around in the other guy's shoes"....I don't think more guns are the answer...I never see an incidence of a criminal being stopped by a legal gun owner....instead it is usually a teenager w/an assault rifle precipitating a classroom tragedy....I seriously doubt that the writers of the Constitution had that in Mind....finally...I don't think enough attention has been paid to the fact that the loudest voices of the Far Right:Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck. Sean Hannity, and Karl Rove....are ALL college drop-outs....while President Obama Headed the Harvard Law Review.

Weird scenes inside the gold mine. Gadhafi picthing a tent is ok by me. Who cares about this really? The fact that we have all of these leaders in our country is huge. I would let him pitch a tent in my yard if it made him comfortable and allowed real conversation. As far as Ahmadinejad is concerned I think we need to have a real dialog. We cannot effect change from the outside! We need to talk to this man and if he wants power (electricity) to his country, we can help. The bomb scare thing is a worry, watch malls.

Good Morning,
I am a U.S. Navy Seal Veteran and I've traveled 60% + of the world, you would not believe the things that happen, that is reported, NOT REPORTED around the world. JFK started the U.S. Navy Seals in 1962. The BEST of the BEST in "Special Forces". The Government is using more and more Navy Seals for Operations across the Globe, this is no secret.
We talk about how to protect Americans 100% and there is no such attainable goal. If they want to bomb a subway, it will happen, plane, train, water system, what ever they decide to do. 9/11 was just a example for the U.S. We are open to Terroist Attacks just like the average citiizen can do a crime, any time they want. It's a matter of if it gets reported or covered up by the Upper Powers of our Government.
YOU CANNOT PROTECT EVERYONE.

I was really disappointed with John Roberts' comment this morning regarding the stock market surge. This type of gloom and doom talk by the media just leads people to hold back from investing. The other reporters were talking about the Dow reaching 10,000 again and what does Mr. Roberts say–"Just wait until October". I was so glad the other two women looked at him in a strange way. Yes, there have been problems with the markets in October in the past, but why rain on the parade today?
Come on Mr. Roberts, you are better than that. Don't fall into the vat with the rest of the media trying to make a story before it happens. Shame on you.

Its time for New Yorkers to grow up. The UN is the UN. Ghadaffi is a head of State. Scotland is Scotland. The evidence against the bomber was hardly overwhelming – in fact flimsy- .

The very fact that the lybian dictator is in ny and the tri state. Is very wrong. He should not be aloud to even be in the usa. It is disrespectful. The usa should kick him out

So acccording to you lotBush toldother world leaders what to do and they didn't, and Obama's challenge is to show he can make them like doing what he wants them to do. How typically Ameracentric ! Maybe Obama's challenge is to show he's prepared to do or go along with what others want for a change.
