It's been three months since Americans Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd and Josh Fattal were arrested in Iran. The three reportedly crossed an unmarked border while hiking in northern Iraq, and are being held in Tehran.
This morning, a fourth hiker who was not arrested is asking Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his friends' release. Alex Fattal, Josh's brother, spoke to John Roberts on Monday's American Morning to give the latest details.

The next time John Roberts interviews someone who expresses support for the 'hikers,' can he first please ask why those idiots were vacationing on the Kurdistan-Iranian border in the first place? It seems so stupid that you cannot really blame the Iranians for thinking that maybe there is more to it than just three happy-go-lucky Americans crossing an unmarked border. I hope nothing bad happens to these fruitcakes, but it cannot harm that they have some time to think about their irresponsible behavior in a prison cell. Otherwise, what next for these spoiled brats: golf in Waziristan or windsurfing in Somalia?
Sometimes bad things happen to foolish people. What were they thinking.
I would like to take my children around this world but I tell them to wait until it is safe to travel. Those hikers suffer the consequences of traveling this world at a time when it is not safe to do so.
Those of the Mahdi could facilitate such a release if those of the Mahdi were to be asked. Within 24 hours those kids would be on a flight home.
Now lets jump into tomorrow....the troops are all home from Afghanistan...China has assumed responsibility.
