'Precious' star talks about powerful performance

Two words you'll be hearing a lot together in the coming weeks and months are "Precious" and "Oscar."

There is a lot of buzz surrounding the movie about a teenage girl who faces incredible hardships. CNN's Jason Carroll spent some time with the film's breakout star.

I read the book and I am waiting to see the movie when it comes on video. The book was so detailed and broke me down to tears more than once. I personally haven't experienced anything in my own life similiar to what Claireece Jones went through and it hurts to think that things like what happened to her are happening all around the country all the time. I hope that this movie opens the eyes of jaded Teachers and Educators and encourages them to take a second look at the students who aren't doing so well, You never know what someone's home life is like.

What excuse does the actress have for looking like a giant bowling ball?

This was a great movie... just like she says, "don't let life knock you down or keep you down." Definitely an award needs to go out to one or all of these women: Gabby Sidibe, Mo'Nique and Paula Patton

I saw this movie this weekend. I was sadden, disturbed and emotionally drained by this movie. Still now as I write this I feel the tears welling up. I feel this way not because I experienced anything of the things that Precious experienced but because I know that there is someone out there going through these things right now as I write this. Mo'nique's performance is definitely Oscar worthy. An excellent movie, Haunting!

Why is it that liberals try to teach us to be tolerant of the animistic religions and the belief that people can turn into animals, but not tolerant of the views of Christians? Once again, it's liberal hypocrisy at its finest. The theory of evolution is just that... A THEORY! It has yet to be proven. It's simply a model that fits some of the facts we can observe. Wake up, America! The liberals who berate everyone else as idiots are themselves guilty of being angry and illogical.
