Obama sticking up for Reid

In an interview with CNN Political Analyst Roland Martin, President Obama brushed off the controversy over racially insensitive comments by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

But some leaders in the black community say the president is missing a chance to kick-start a real national discussion about race. Our White House Correspondent Suzanne Malveaux has the report.

Why do white reporters start this crap, and black people get blamed for it.? Everything racial is not racist. I could named 10 or more instances where the reporter wrote something as racist, and blacks caught hell for it, when we had nothing to do with it. Rush LIMPbaugh (remember the 500 hits of Viagra), Glenn Beck, and O'reilly are a different breed.

Bob, you are 100% right. People like Limbaugh can get by with this, and much more. CNN does not say one word about it. Guess they are afraid of him, just like the republicans.

So you consider yourself to be 100% American. Think about what that means. Absolutely nothing!!I am more American than you will ever be. My descendants are Comanche. Think about that!. And look what you people did to them. Whatever is different from the anglo....I live in the real world and you want to make a new one but you want an all-anglo one. That is not going to work for you here unless you plan on stamping out everyone who is not anglo....

He never had any "good ole buddies" in Congress. When he took the oath to become President, they turned on him because, to them, a black man could never be in any position to tell them what he wanted done (agenda) and for them to figure out how to get it done. That left a bitter taste in their mouths.

But everyone have their own opinion and opinions are just like door knobs, everyone gets a turn. Both you and I have had our turn.

Ok, wolfgang. So it's hatred and not racism in your halfbaked rebuttal. Sorry, I don't hate obama. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but he has proven, very quickly, just how incompetent and a real chicago politician.
I have Italian and Swedish descendents but am 100%AMERICAN. No prefixes. I may be coming a minority but that's another comment.
And, I don't apologize for nor change my opinion of losing friends. All of the latest polls show his approval rating under 50%. now his good buddies in congress are showing signs of discord. How nice
Sounds like you should stop watching those'reality'shows and get back in the REAL world!!
I actually LIKE turnips. Mashed with some REAL butter. Very good!!

vicalvi..you sound as though you just got off the "turnip truck". What a waste of "so-called human-flesh" you are? I suggest you look back into your "family tree". You sound more than a "half-breed" than the President.

Reid is just a man whose mentality is still in the 60's-70's. What is your excuse? What have you done for anybody lately or anytime in your life.? People, with an atttude like yours, should never breed.

To make life easier for you and yours... look at my first comment.
You have no monopoly on hatred.

obama has to keep reid as a 'friend'. He has been losing them at an increasingly fast pace. He has done very little, except spend a lot of money and bringing his socialist buddies into power, and will be doing even less when the dems are thrown out later this year. Maybe enough votes for impeachment???
now his ultraliberal friends will call me racist. He is a half breed so how can I be racist? It will now be interesting to see if cnn will print this comment.

Why don't we just line up...white on black..black on white opposite each other in each and every country and start firing? Line up the jews, iranians, iraqis, chinese, koreans, pakistanis, afghans, russians, etc every people. Just to see who will be left standing. No discussion. Whomever is left standing will be in charge and have to answer to God, Allah, Buddha, , i.e. etc.

Race or differences will no longer matter. Where hate breeds, no love, understanding, respect will grow. You become the devil's pawns.

    Dear CNN:

Why must you constantly go to the Rev. Al Sharpton for comment? As Karl Malone so eloquently put it on your very show televised from Louisiana Tech, Rev. Sharpton is a passionate man but WHY do we keep trying to breath life into a dead horse? Race is an inconsequential issue now that a black man can be President of the United Status

Why is it wrong for Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader to use the word negro and ok for the head of the republican party [Rush Limbaugh] to play Barack The Magic Negro on his radio show?

Thank GOD for Michael Eric Dyson! Finally someone who well interrogates and provides viable discourse on race. Prof. Obama, "Will YOU come to the classroom."-NOT!

I agree with Ron. Fame and Fortune doesn't just apply to the Politically shrewd and clever.

I think the only measure of Racism from White to Black should be measured by use of the "N" word, and only that . America is soon to be divided into a Black Party and a White Party and although that is sad, ground rules need to be defined. In 10 years America will look no different than Iraq with all its Ethnic Problems. Also rules need to be defined of Racism from Black to White and I would like to hear a roundtable discussion on that. The only time I've heard "Honkey" lately is in heavy Traffic.

I have a question and comment specifically for the Syracuse Professor who appeared on the aimfix segment discussing the Harry Reid's "racial comments." Professor, what discussion needs to occur in public about race in the USA? Can any public discussion ever occur when any white person involved in a discussion has to fear the "race card" hitting the table? The country needs some stronger leaders in the African American community to speak up that have not made their Fortunes and Fame playing the "race card." These new black leaders need to bring pressure down on those in their community that continue to use the "N" word in songs (rap) and between young folks in communication between each other. Those that "play the race card" seem to forget that a number white folks marched with MLK and a few die in the south for for standing up for human rights.
