Pentagon gunman disliked government

Washington (CNN) - A man who was shot after calmly opening fire on two Pentagon police officers died early Friday, authorities said.

The gunman was John Patrick Bedell, a law enforcement source said. At a Friday morning news conference, Pentagon Police Chief Richard S. Keevill referred to him only as Bedell.

The 36-year-old man lived with his parents in Hollister, California, said Terry Sutherland, a Pentagon spokesman.

Bedell had "no real emotion in his face" as he approached the officers Thursday evening, Keevill said. He pulled a gun out of his pocket when asked for identification to enter the Pentagon, the chief said.

Keevill praised Officers Jeffrey Amos and Marvin Carraway for acting "quickly and decisively to neutralize him as a threat" without hurting anyone else. FULL STORY

"Pentagon gunman disliked government"?? Sounds like he agreed with almost 90% of Americans who believe our government is broken... just because he was a fruitloop who took it too far doesn't justify the insinuation that everyone else (90%) who is sick of our broken government is a potential murderer – any more than anyone else with any views.

Correction Alcohol will cause liver damage may have negative affects on antiphycotic drugs (void any curing affect they have).

P.S. How smart was he if he use drugs?

The Pentagon shooter was Metally Ill then its not what he believe it was his drug use that lead to the shootings. Mary-J, Alcohol, and any drug including steriods (tren otc) will void any use of meds antiphycotic drug he was on.

Why didn't he have to register with the State or Government about his mental illness. We have law that they can have gun that a loop hole we have to stop.

When the Glenn Beck fan took his private airplane and rammed it into the nearby IRS office, the heavy handed Federal response was to place ALL private pilot's names into the terror watch list and increase the large battery of tests for ALL private pilots to include a psychological exam.

What will be the heavy handed Federal response to this solo wing-nut going postal on the Pentagon? Take away all Kevlar materials from law abiding citizens? Further restrict their right to bear arms? ALL VERY LIKELY.
