(CNN) – Female suicide bombers detonated explosions that rocked two subway stations in central Moscow during rush hour on Monday morning, killing at least 35 people, officials said.

"It was a terrorist act carried out by the female suicide bombers," said Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, citing Russia's intelligence agency, the Federal Security Service. "They were specifically timed - for ... the train was nearing the station - to make the most damage.

"The blast was caused by 300 to 400 grams of explosives," he said.

Forensic teams were combing wreckage from the underground blast for clues.

The blasts killed at least 35 people and wounded 40 others, Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry said. The casualty tolls were fluctuating immediately after the blasts. FULL STORY

Yet again, President Obama has shown superb and respectful leadership in his Afganistan. Watch. I wonder how the Republicans are going to "spin" this.

I would say that 99% of suicide bombings are done by Muslims, do these Muslims have any care for human life? Do they really believe that they will gain anything from their senseless killings? Surly it will cause backlash for their cause of Muslim power and control of any land. Can Muslims ever be happy with what they have in life? I wonder if the Koran says that they should not want as it says in Psalms in the Holy Bible?

Christion Militias in Federal Court? Rus Limbaug, Glen Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, Sarah Palin, et al and a few members of Congress need to join them there. These people are dangerous, inciteful and inflamitory.

Major metropolitan areas are easy targets. So many people crammed into small areas. Like herds of cattle. Easy for terrorists and politicians to impose their will.

Haters on the left? Thats a bunch of bull. I can show you page after page of haters, virtually all coming from the conservative right. Go to bible belt newspaper blogs. What folks are saying there is enough to make ones hair stand on end. The problem is, is people of reason are not being vocal enough. The situation is improving.

Is this about healthcare or blatant, hateful resistance and refusal to work with a black president?

Ever been the black child in school and if any light skinned child tries to be your friend they would be bullied and abused too? Obama is that child, Democrats who support him the light skinned child and Republicans are the bullies.

Ever seen any white president come up on such resistance in everything and NO support from the other side?

Ever seen this level of hate and violent tirany since the signing of the bill to abolish slavery?

Have blacks been spat on in the streets before? Is it the first time that racial slurs are thrown out at us? What's new?

Where were all these hateful, angry people when pen was meeting paper to spend billions invading a country to look for nonexistent WMDs instead of fixing healthcare?

Even Pakistan has universal healthcare and America who claims to be a world leader is crying that it can't afford it?

Why does Amtrak take days to get from one state to the next when I can get from London to another EU country in a day via train?

Palin and your cronies, is it ok to let the country rot inside out while you spend billions to fight wars?

Pastors need to stop allowing such hateful and violent republican people in the pulpit to come looking for votes, lay hands on them and pray for deliverance from lying and adultery!

They use especially black churches in NYC to get votes and hand out pittance!

The church being involved in politics to bring Christlike change (be salt) that preserves a decaying nation is not the same thing as allowing politics to use the church for votes while there no christlike reform in the land!

For years blacks in America have loved and supported caucasian presidents, for once a black president is in the White House and there is blatant refusal to support him in anyway?

What I say is, whichever party is in office, if they do a good thing for Americans, Americans need to support the American President.

Oh, Obama was not born here? What is your heritage? Ireland? Britain? France? Germany?....? Before we speak, we ought to think.

America is a beautiful country and only its own people (Americans) can destroy it and the world, including those who hate Americans are looking on at all this foolishness and laughing at you all disgustingly ripping yourselves apart.

Sadly, America's worst enemy lies within its borders.

Ps: Michael Steele is a puppet. He is the cheese in the rat's trap for black votes. He is in that seat only because of president Obama. Let us move forward and not back in time where blacks were being setup against their own.

There is only ONE race (human race) but TWO kinds of people (good & bad)

What ever happended to accountability and responsibilty. Leaders need to be acountable for their actions as well as their inactions. Have we not learned anything from our past.

I would like to share one thought – share withe the Amnerican the benfits one receive with bills that become laws and move on to address the next challenge(s) that confront the American people.

Jobs, Education, Immigration and the likes.

If we are to be the model – over the past few months we have displayed some pretty poor examples – but I know we are better than that. As a people lets rise above thge polotics and continue to work for the betterment of our people.

So are Muslim women promised 40 virgins, too? Or are they promised that they won't have to be one for a male bomber?

I wonder if Moscow was just a test run for the terrorists for something much bigger here in the United States. They now know for sure how much damage 300 to 400 grams of explosive can cause...might be time to tighten security up at our major train station hubs.

BTW – I love Kiran, I folllowed her from Fox News to CNN and it is good that she left Fox, she saved me from he right wing nut jobs!

Terrorism is a modern-day scourge. Female bombers used to be a rarity. Now, women are joining the ranks of terrorists. It's a terrible thing to see. We are very fortunate here in our country. We have somewhat been spared from this type of brutality. That is so far, at least.

Media needs to cool out reports of WHO responsible has been grossly inaccurate. WHY doesn't the media get their facts STRAIGHT before reporting on national TV?

90% of media reporting is full of spin and inaccuracies. You can't even depend on the NEWS for accurate NEWS.

I really wish that they would not tell us how many grams were used to cause this much damage – just gives the terrorists data needed to adjust for future attacks.

Whether Sen. Specter is Dem. Or Gop is it necessary to use our tax monies to eat at 4 and 5 star restaurants in Philadelphia?++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++That is cheaper than Nancy Pelosi flying her family around the world on vacation.

This is all George Bush's fault. Muslims hate Russia because of George Bush and Dick Cheney. Now that we have Obama, they love us and still hate Russia. Russia just needs to invite Obama over to make everyone love them too.

I'm not sure its any less cowardly to sit at a game-boy type console and direct a drone to fire into a building or a car or a street 1,000 km away when you really don't know who else is in the area.

But dismissing it all as cowardly or thuggery or whatever derogatory term makes you feel better doesn't seem to add much. I keep hearing about US soldiers coming home with Post traumatic stress and prone to suicidal tendencies because of the intensity of combat stress during one or two tours. I can't help but wonder how a lifetime of combat and loss affects people under occupation and how many mental health professionals are around to tend to them. Doesn't come as much of a shock to find there is a self-replenishing supply of suicide bombers.

Hello fellow humans. When are you going to bring out the truth that all religions, royal houses & govs. r all terrorist & criminal orgs.Their enforcers r their polices & militaries. This terrorist bombing is just one of the terrible side effects which they impose upon their enslaved masses (us).Centuries ago their pseudo-spices wars were really drug wars. Why do you think that these monsters (pedophile priests) killer cops, perpetators of wars etc., r never prosecuted?Youse had better wake up.If we don;t begin to listen to each other instead of them within the next 20-30 yrs their imposed Armageddon will enter its final stage & will be unstoppable. If that happens they will sequester all foods 4 themselves protecting them with their enforcers leaving humanity 2 feed on itself.Youse will condemn humanity to eat its own children.

I agree with Leiani. We should start rethinking how to strategize our approach to certain situations because very little happens overnight with out proper assistance.

I am saddened by this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers for those affected.

In response to Aldrin's comment about improving security; stating (after a tragic event) that security should be tightened seems like stating the obvious to me. On second thought, no matter how awesome security is, it will never be enough to stop terrorists–especially when they are citizens of the nation they terrorize. The problem lies deeper than security programs. Do our politicians really think we are so ignorant?

Good Morning America Love The Show BTW. I woke up this morning and the 1st thing that caught my attention was a terriost attack against Moscow. I believe that terriost whom attack INNOCENT people are simply cowards and if they want to beat on someone maybe they should either look in the mirror or pick on someone their own size. I love my country and im never scared. Believe that

Are suicide bombers any more (or less) terrorists than say... Israel using US-made military equipment against Palestinians civilian population? Or is it just another available weapon available to them during a war?

My comment is about Arlen Specter.
I am not from Pennsylvania; however, I think what he did to his PA constituents switching to the Democratic party AFTER his state voted him in on the Republican ticket was a disgrace.
My thoughts are that if a politician is voted in on a particular party ticket, then they should be required to fulfill the term of the party they were voted in on.
Then, if they decide they don't want any affiliation with that particular party, run on the other ticket the next election cycle.
I hope he gets voted out of office.

My sympathies and condolences to the victims of this tragedy. However, my concern is that the Russian government would use this event as an excuse to tighten its grip on its citizens under the guise of preserving state security. It's a knee-jerk reaction. I'm hoping it will not come to that though...there's a much better way than imposing a form of martial law – such as improving security on the stations in the first place.

Someone once told me that 90% of all hitmen are women. There were a couple in that Israeli group that killed the Hamas leader in Dubai. An attractive model in a sexy dress is usually the last type of person that the public would suspect.
