Countdown on for predawn launch of shuttle Discovery
(CNN) – Final preparations are underway for the pre-dawn launch of the space shuttle Discovery. Seven Astronauts will be in space for the next 13 days with three spacewalks planned. We’ll take you live to Kennedy Space Center to see the lift-off “as it happens” right here on the most news in the morning.
Tiger Returns to Pro Golf Tour
Tiger Woods is making his return to the Pro Golf Tour this week. Before teeing it up at the Masters on Thursday, he’ll meet the media today for the first time since the sex scandal erupted.
Woods faced his fellow golfers for the first time Sunday during a practice round at Augusta National and most Americans think it’s about time for Tiger’s come-back.
According to a CNN-Opinion Research Poll, 75 percent say Tiger’s return to the Masters is appropriate. Just 19 percent think he should wait longer.

Friends say actor Corey Haim was trying to get clean, before his sudden death last month.
But California investigators linked his name to a massive fraudulent prescription drug ring. Before his passing, Haim openly discussed his life long battle with drug addiction.
But his desire to be drug gree may have been no match for the line of doctors that were more than willing to keep him hooked. Our Kareen Wynter is taking a look at who’s supplying Hollywood in our new series, “Addicted.”

Prescription drug abuse makes it tough for legitimate pain patients. I have had 6 spine surgeries and have nerve damage. I have dealt with chronic pain for 15 years now, and have NEVER abused my medications or been an addiction risk.. But I have had doctors treat me like I am a drug seeker, addict, criminal, regardless of how thick my medical file is documenting my issues. I HATE moving and changing doctors, and trying to find one that is willing to deal with it. The drunk that ran me over is the criminal, not me. I have a right to have legitimate pain treated, but the doctors are scared because of the DEA and the addicts who fake it and doctor shop. Its not fair.
Here in florida we have an abundance of pseudo "pain Clinics" they dont take insurance, you pay cash, and the parking lot is full of scummy people. Shut the legal drug pushers down. My pain clinic takes insurance, does blood work, has PT etc, and the folks in the waiting room dont look like junkies.

alot of people have seen life from space.i bet you wont talk about it on your show cause it sounds so crazy. only the smartest most powerful people know the most about alien life. i bet the nasa lady does! or she has seen some e.t. vehicle. thanks guys
Jealous of Tiger? PUH – LEEEEZE. According to him
he has an addiction. It gives men the wrong idea to
make him think that because he's a good golfer, the rules
of deceny in life don't apply to him, just as other athletes think.
He hurt the lives of his wife and children but people are acting
like that's fine as long as he hits a ball.
He even hurt some of the "women on the side" who thought he loved them was going to leave his wife.
He needs to work on his personal life before he puts himself
in the golf limelight again.
I have been watching for the past 2 hours, why have there not been any story of which Christian service our president attended yesterday as has always been the norm with past presidents on Easter Sunday.

Why do people care so much about what Tiger did. Are we all really sayin that we have never known anyone who has cheated, been cheated on or have at some point been the cheater.

I agree Tiger Woods personal life is his PERSONAL life. I think the media feeding frenzy is disgusting and the 'public figure' -'role model' loophole the media uses is just your excuse to be sickly voyeuristic . He is after all JUST AN ATHLETE. I could care less that he cheated– only his wife should care. If the media would focus on the things that are NEWS we wouldn't have to know about the ridiculous antics of the sick-n-famous. We are at WAR, how about that?

I couldn't help but notice that the racial makeup of the astronauts is diverse. Is this mix by chance or will the female astronauts be donating eggs towards an effort to preserve humankind in space?
Until NASA is clear on it's future, why ground the Shuttle?
Michael J. Fox is to Parkinsons recognition just as Cory brings forth recognition to drug abuse. Put a face to it gives it greater recognition does it not.
You parents better clue in...we know some will "just say no" but we know there will be those who "just say yes" so be more aware of that which is coming at your/our children. Thinking your child will not do drugs will not stop an overdose. Awareness might do just that..I think our children worth the effort don't you??
Let's not kid ourselves prescription drug abuse isn't just a problem in Hollywood. What about parents and doctors over-prescribing Ritalin.
My concern is for the US funds going to Pakistan for fighting Taliban and terrorist in the valleys. After these continuing series of blasts on US embassies in Pakistan and Taliban claiming responsibility it doesn't appear much that Pakistan has done enough for the funds provided.
What are the measures implemented by US to see these funds are not misused and are draining away for other activities?
There was news that Pakistan is using part of these funds for raising terrorism in other Asian parts especially in India.
People's interest in Tiger's personal life is based on jealousy. It's none of their business what his personal life is about. That's why it's called PERSONAL life.
I stopped watching golf when Tiger stopped playing. It's great to have him back.
as a sports fan i can't wait to see tiger play, he tries hard, never gives up, and he's just exciting to watch, i really don't care about his personal life.

On the NASA website there is a section devoted to Science discoveries as a result of the ISS. One of the more interesting ones (micro-encapsulation of drugs/imaging contrasts) could lead to more targeted cancer treatments.
How fast is the Space Shuttle travelling, while breaking the Earth's atmosphere? Also, at 17K mph, how often are "evasive" moves neccessary, while enroute to the ISS
While I support the shuttle & space program I wonder exactly what "great work" is being done on the International Space Station as per Cadie Coleman?
I wonder what the astronauts do in the 90minutes from when the shuttle's door locks and it blasts off

Is it possible that the whole Tiger Woods "rehabilitation" was just political spin, rather than real change? Do sponsors really even care? Tiger is coming back that means a rating spectacle, right?
After the retirement of the shuttle fleet, there will be several years before the Orion/Ares Vehicle becomes active, what will happen to the Astronaut Corps in the meantime?
Long-term unemployment
You just advised "filling the gap" in one's resume with volunteer work and so forth. The last I knew, in New York State, if one volunteers, unemployment benefits are forfeited. The state considers that if you have time to volunteer, you have time to work. You may want to warn viewers to check applicable regulations in their area.
Next month will see the first abort test of the Orion vehicle. It is impressive that this launch abort system can lift the crew vehicle away from the launch pad and up to parachute height, but why does it not have a roll control motor?

I am a passenger who was flying to San antonio tx from DCA yesterday. I, along with 700 passengers or so, were stranded yesterday in atlanta because airtran had crew issues (not enough people to fly already scheduled flights) I guess people called in sick over the holiday weekend? They have stranded people for two days from what I heard in the airport. A boy flying to see his dad for the holiday had to be turned away twice with little or no explanation. I wondered if this would make the news...

People should stop attempting to paint one party as better than the other. Whatever any Republican has done – there is a Democrat doing the same thing. That's the problem with politics in America ... everybody blaming each other instead of being realistic about anything. The Democrats aren't the standard bearers of morality in America. Both parties are different wings of the same bird.

The republicans want the people to believe that they are so "moral" compared to the democrats. With their actions recently, I think they need to stop and take a good long look in the mirror.
I would like to see a report how many people die from the abuse of prescription drugs – rather than just the "stars" or famous people we hear about.

That is good for part of the population but I deal with the other part that just say"hell yes". It goes to a bed time story told to our children. Goldilocks and the Bears= one bowl too small, one too big and one just right.=teach our freaking children their measure in life and that includes booze and drugs because if we do not teach them that schoolyard they are attached to will.
Biggest booze hounds and druggies are the parents to begin with and monkey see monkey do still in play here so you get what you grow..you sow what you reap..

Tigers return like a young artists putting up another canvas for another work. Many may not appreciate his actions off the field but all should appreciate the level of play coming from this young player when he is on the playing field.
