Army recruit says goodbye to her 2-year-old girl

(CNN) – The days before a soldier leaves home for the very the first time can be just as agonizing as war itself. We're following the story of new Army recruit Latricia Rose who had to leave both her husband and young daughter behind to head to basic training. CNN's Jason Carroll has her story for our special series, "A Soldier's Story."

for those who don't know pvt rose is being chaptered out of the army. the news is going to say it was because of her daughter, but i am in the battalion that was training her and she didn't make it past day 1. she had a poor attitude and stuck her hand in a drill sergeants face. i witnessed her be insubordinate several times within her first hour of being in basic. she didn't have a clue what the army was like and i suspect someone lied to her and told her about the benefits but forgot to tell her what you have to do to get the benefits. i think she was expecting an easy life with alot of handouts.

This is so heart warming as I too had to go through the stage. I was a single mother leaving my daughter in 2005. And I was that child when my mother left me in 1990. So for all you women and men who are leaving your kids, know that it will get better and your decisions is only for the better good. Congrats on your new journey and may GOD bless you all.
