New York (CNN) – Authorities hunting for the suspect in the botched Times Square bombing dramatically beat the clock overnight, seizing a Pakistani-American citizen moments before he began a long trip to his strife-torn homeland.
Faisal Shahzad, 30, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. ET Monday at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, said Attorney General Eric Holder.
Shahzad will appear sometime after 2 p.m. ET Tuesday in federal court, the U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan said.
The suspect is set to go before Magistrate Judge Kevin Fox. Charges will be read against the defendant, and the judge will determine if a bail will be set.
Hi Nancy I believe there will be terrorists charges against him...
Will there be terrorists charges brought against him?
how bizarre the world is. I happen to glance at the tv during an interview of former ny governor pataki. His critique of the times square bomber was "obama should have known in advance". the same governor pataki who was governing? during 9/11. it's like alice through the looking glass. I'm glad I'm old and won't have to see much more of this.
Boy, this must be a big disappointment for this administration. It turned out to NOT be a 40-year-old white guy after all. When will this administration learn that terrorists hate ALL Americans; not just the Americans that this administration hates. All the apologizing and "sitting down to talk" will accomplish nothing at all. What a bunch of amateurs!
