(CNN) – A new Consumer Reports study says Americans are taking too many over-the-counter pain medications and this could be causing chronic headaches instead of relieving them. To sort out the so-called "rebound headache" syndrome, we were joined on Thursday's American Morning by our chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

I have no idea what this has to do with earnings and taxes other than people are self medicating rather paying to see a doctor. If we did have a real medical plan that did not cost more than a house payment we would not need OTC meds. Most are just snake oil BS that make billions for the PHARM Co's. We have been sold a lot of BS about OTC meds (all we need to feel better is a pill) A good diet of unprocessed food and exercise would cure most of our ill's.
Mr. Snare,
You're kidding on the more taxes thing, right? Or are you so unmotivated and lazy you need others to bring home your bacon for you?
OTC drugs are overused because they don't work very well! Effective pain management drugs are prescribed incorrectly. There are doctors that are too skeptical regarding the pain others legitimately experience, while crooked doctors are writing prescriptions of oxycodone for their friends/family.
I say give the drugs to those who seek them, and let nature (overdose) kill off the stupid and irresponsible.
This may be true(over-medicating, excessive pills). This tells me that many are earning too much and should be paying more taxes.
But, no-one ever asked me, so this story from CU has little merit.
