What's next for BP?

(CNN) – BP's latest effort to slow down the oil spilling into the Gulf has hit another snag. The company says it's getting ready once again to try and slice a leaking oil riser in half so they can try to cap it after the saw got stuck on the first try.

As they continue to try to figure things out, oil has now washed ashore in three states and is moving closer to Florida. The Coast Guard's national incident commander, Adm. Thad Allen, joined us on Thursday's American Morning to explain the next steps in capping the Gulf Coast oil riser.

I really do not give a "hoot" as to BP's future. THEY & their oil buddies have made this disaster because of their greed to make $$$. Their ONLY future & goal should be to provide the $$$ needed, for however long it takes, NO more tax breaks for oil companies! Instead of giving them breaks, we need to inact legislation / laws that mandate every oil company to place $$$ into an "emergency" fund. This would not make them imune from fines, prosecution, or providing more $$ if found responsible for a future disaster.

Would someone please ask this question: Why are there no ships cruising that are designed to separate the Oil from the water? I have heard that this technology has been used before.

    Thanks,

Has BP considered freezing the pipe using a refrigerator collar that circles the pipe to temporily stem the flow so a permanent plug can be inserted.

We use this method to work on large water pipes to repair segments or add connections. The collar is available in various sizes.

Once the oil is frozen a plug can be inserted and the freezing collar can then be removed.

Isn't it time to implode the well? This was given as a possible ultimate fix by ex-Shell CEO? We have waited too long.
