Florida prepares as oil closes in

(CNN) – Florida Gov. Charlie Crist has seen the enemy from the air, and it's closing in. Crist flew over the Gulf oil spill yesterday and spotted a light sheen of crude less than four miles from Pensacola's shore. It seems inevitable now, Florida is about to come face-to-face with this environmental menace. He joined us on Friday's American Morning to talk about how his state is preparing for the worst.

Here are just a few of the outrageous Drill baby Drill comments by BP, Republicans and Republican connected corporations, feel free to add your own to this list of shame:

BP CEO Tony (soon to resign in disgrace) Hayward, 'The Oil spill was 'tiny' compared with the volume of water in the Gulf of Mexico'.

The Republican darling and Queen of the Tea Potty movement Sarah (Drill baby Drill) Palin, '"Radical environmentalists: you are damaging the planet with your efforts to lock up safer drilling areas. There's nothing clean and green about your misguided, nonsensical radicalism, and Americans are on to you as we question your true motives."

Fox News entertainers and king of psycho babblers Rush Limbaugh and Brit Hume, 'More oil is spilled every year in Africa, and in Nigeria than so far in the Gulf. So it's not unique, its not exceptional'.

Fox News entertainers and king of psycho babblers Rush Limbaugh and Brit Hume,'The Gulf of Mexico annually absorbs crude Oil equivalent to twice the Exxon Valdez spill, the current crisis is overblown'

Fox News entertainers and king of psycho babblers Rush Limbaugh and Micheal (Heckva Job) Brown,'They played politics with this crisis, This is exactly what they want, because now President Obama can pander to the environmentalists and say 'I'm going to shut this down because it's too dangerous'

Sadly, compared to the previous pin-heads and bobble-heads, Fidel Castro appears to have the most sober view and assessment:

Fidel Castro on the Gulf of Mexico Gusher, 'The Oil Spill shows how little governments can do against those who control the capital and money'

Suggestion for future Oil Drilling Safety:

Develop a large pipe size LAP BAN Collar with the same principals as used in obesity surgery only with insert collar to fit the large pipe lines with this inflation system in the pipe lines it could at least slow the flow of oil, if not simplify the shutting down of the oil in its entirety. May even want to consider more than one per line in the future. Computer controlled air lines would work with the inflation of the pipe interior closing inflated liner.
