End of the road for legendary gas-guzzling Hummer

(CNN) – After a taxpayer bailout, things are starting to look up for General Motors. In fact, the Wall Street Journal is reporting the automaker will start airing Super Bowl ads next year after a two year hiatus. Part of its recovery means the end of the road for some memorable GM brands, including the biggest one of them all. Our Allan Chernoff has the report.

Luv this Hummer...I rode in this MONSTER TRUCK for the first time! I truely felt like I owned the road and the seven seas...and I was the "passenger" remember! I am sure there will be some sort of replacement due to its retirement. We can only hope.

I'd say it was about time (long overdue actually). They were built to be gas-guzzlers and there was never any hint of making a smaller, more fuel-efficient model. It likely would still be a good seller if they had gone that route and also not charged 3 times what an average vehicle would cost. I would think most people would be embarrassed to say they ever owned one.

The monie from BP from the captured oil are not and should not be considered a "DONATION". That is their responsibility and shame on them for trying to get some good PR by looking at this as a "DONATION". Truthfully – they make me sick at this point. They are all about the buck which was verified by Anderson Cooper's story last evening on 360. It was just as expected. Sad – so sad!!!!

I am also sad to see the HUMMER brand disappear. The dealer service from HUMMER dealers was truly excellent and the vehicles are fun to drive and no more "gas guzzling" than any other large truck. Despite all of that I managed to buy one of the few 2010 H3T's that were produced before they shut down the production line. It's a great truck and right now is averaging almost 20mpg. My H2 was always my weekend fun car and it will stay that way until my trucks are piles of rust. I will trade in my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon shortly and use the funds as a down payment for an H1 so that I will have a fine collection of the best of breed off road trucks.

Joran van der Sloot was under the influence of marijuana when he killed his latest victim?... lol... And the "authorities" (or anyone else) is believing THAT? Marijuana doesn't make people commit murder. Simple fact is van der Sloot is a serial killer and he is just attempting to get a shorter prison sentence. If he is ever released from prison – he'll kill again. When Peru gets done with him – the US will take their shot @ him.

    Good Morning CNN!

Should have allowed GM to die a natural death instead of being taken over by the Government. The Government has no problem with allowing millions of jobs being sent out of the country – what's a few more?

RIGHT!! They dumped Saturn and tried to keep the Hummer. No wonder they have problems. I own 2 saturns and for the price they are alot better than other GM products
