(CNN) – While most of the coverage of the oil spill catastrophe has focused on Louisiana's marshes and the creatures that call it home, the threat facing the city of New Orleans seems to be flying under the radar.
Major industries in the Big Easy – tourism, seafood, oil – are all in turmoil. New Orleans elected a new mayor just four months ago. He's Mitch Landrieu and he joined us on Wednesday's American Morning in his first live national interview since the oil spill began.

The gulf ocean has turned into a dirty toilet with toilet bowl cleaner in it I dont think that maybe people are that crazy about eating the food from it .
TO TELL YOU,.. BP,.. DON"T WANT TO SLOW THE LEAK....
I Worked Constuction for Year. if they wanted to;;they would
How you ask;. to catch the oil you would take steel cables attach
to canvas or other such material about fourty ft or so. then large steel ring at bottom of canvas pull steel cable at top of canvas through collector pipe up to surface .so you need twenty ft steel ring on bottom fouty foot canvas.cable affixed.to pull though pipe to surface collector pipe. need cable for collector pipe and cable for canvas....canvias will work in too ways like shock absorbers and funnel, to stop the leak for good they need to drill new hole beside old one and devert oil up new one...BILL
Is the reason we have oil still leaking into the ocean because BP dosen't want to plug the well up permently and loose money? Instead our government is allowing them to try and save their well and keep their ability to use the well! This is sick beyond sick! The military shound plug the well and don't allow them to drill a releif well, take all their money and send them packing! It's time to end this tradgedy and everyone should rethink their lives.
