(CNN) – As oil continues to foul the Gulf of Mexico, BP faces a midnight deadline. The White House is demanding a plan today for speeding up containment of the leaking crude. Exactly how much crude is leaking? That mystery could be cleared up later this week now that BP has installed pressure sensors inside the ruptured well yesterday. Our Chris Lawrence has the latest.

Why is all the work on the well in the Gulf being done in series. All attempts have been tried knowing that drilling a second well is the solution – so why has that not been going on from time zero?

Why not construct a large 1 sq mile funnel of some flexible material that will trap the oil and let it rise to a given size opening where it can be harvested?
If the president had been truthful and actually used every resource from the beginning, we would have our federally funded naval sub in the gulf instead of off the coast of California.
The sub named "Alvin" has robotic arms, can carry three and can go (3) miles deep. I'm sure the President and the Coast Gaurd have no knowledge of this, ya right.
The non disclosure of this resource is a blatant act of treason against the Gulf and The American people, a convienient mistake to push his green energy bill through Congress.
The info on the sub is located at whoi.edu Its about time the agenda gets cut. The wildlife, fish, and the livelihoods of the gulf are dying each day.
I don't mean to sound flipant about the leak, because I sincerely believe it will cause much more damage than most of us can imagine. But to get the spill cleaned up faster, I think the government should give each company with viable oil cleanup technology a 10 mile stretch of beach and say, "There you go. Clean it up." Then treat it like a reality/elimination show. Put it on all the major cable networks and there will be no stopping the advertizing revenue, all of which would go to the those who have lost their jobs/business because of the disaster. Base the winner on only 2 criteria: Effectiveness; and Time. The winner gets the rest of the cleanup, paid for by BP. Everybody wins except BP. And that's how it should be...
As I watch this nightmare happen to the beautiful Gulf region, I make plans to leave the country permanently.
Both the leak and the clean up deserves the same notice you cant take from Peter to give to Paul with something like this if B.P. isnt putting the bill then the government needs to pull the money from our resources and send B.P. the bill as long as this oil is gushing cleanup is going to be in vein and the people of the Gulf coast needs to face the facts that there lively hood is gone and relocate .
