Oiled pelicans are washed, released

(CNN) – Much help is needed in the Gulf, especially for the most helpless victims of this unprecedented disaster. Pictures of oil-soaked birds, choking on crude and gasping for air, break you heart. But there have been some hopeful and heartwarming moments in the midst of all the despair. Our Rob Marciano tagged along with one team as they released some newly-cleaned pelicans back into the wild.     It would be interesting to tag those birds and see if they try to go back or if they just go find a different place. Might be useful information to know how long they live after that also.
