(CNN) – On the day the Supreme Court wraps up its current term, Elena Kagan goes before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Kagan is expected to win Senate confirmation to the high court, but Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) says it won't be a "coronation." He's the ranking Republican on Judiciary committee and he joined us on Monday's American Morning to explain what he wants to hear from Kagan.

She has no judge experience. How can a job on the Supreme Court not require 1st hand judicial experience? I believe she is being consider for a job as a judge. In my experience as a manager, I can not consider applicants without at least minimal experience. Sorry but this applicant doesn't qualify. Next!
Senator Sessions is just bitter and still angry he was not confirmed to the Supreme Court. His racist remarks to a White Attorney about being a disgrace to his race in a racial case killed his chances. I will admit, however, that no nominee is going to be easily accepted by either side. If a Democratic President makes the nomination then Republicans will fight against the nominee and if a Republican President does it then Democrats will fight against it. It's a stupid waste of time and taxpayers money to me.
The only reason Sessions is concerned is because he continues to speak for his life-long constituency whis the KKK and other White Supremacist groups.
He, and they would vary gladly return this nation to the "good ole days" of "Jim Crow" and segregation. Their complete disrespect for our president has emboldened them to the point where openly espousing their subversive cant in open congressional session is considered good politics.
There was a very good reason he was rejected when he was nominated for the court and his behaviour since has proven the wisdom of that rejection.
This sessions, really has an overly drawn southern draw.
Jeff Sessions member of the senate was just shown on CNN American Morning stating the Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan barred Army recruiters from Harvard while as Dean there– Jeff Sessions says in violation of Federal Law. Is he lying??? If not why is this person being nominated by the President of the United States. If find this if true just another example of the "Double Standard", showing disregard for our laws by those in power, the President and the Congress. Could we please have some honesty, please.
It is my understanding that being a judge is NOT a requirement to be on the supreme court? If this is true then what exactly are the requirements? If you do not have to be a judge then any argument for this would be useless. But it really doesn't matter! Depending on the party you belong to the other side will find something to argue about, even if the nominee is the best ever!
Same old double standard from the very liberal side of the Democrat party. No experience as a judge!! Second, even her own writings can be used to effectively grill her. The Republicans arent really doing their job as the "other" party of holding up and effectively delivering a NO to the american public over such a lame person to sit on our highest court. Our current 2 party system is very disfunctional
