With focus on Gulf oil spill, Katrina projects strapped for cash

(CNN) – While focus along the Gulf is on the oil spill cleanup and this hurricane season, many people are still dealing with the aftermath of Katrina. In neighborhoods across New Orleans, volunteers are still helping people rebuild homes damaged five years ago. But the clock is ticking for some rebuild programs to get the work done. Episcopal Community Services of New Orleans was relying on a government grant to continue its rebuild work, but funds are stalled and the program faces an uncertain future.
