NJ governor: 'Jersey Shore' not reality

(CNN) – "The Jersey Shore" may be a hit for MTV, but the Garden State's governor is making clear he's no fan of the raunchy reality show.

Appearing on ABC's This Week, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Sunday that not only is the show "unrealistic," but also "negative for New Jersey."

"What it does is it takes a bunch of New Yorkers, who are – most of the people on 'Jersey Shore' are New Yorkers – takes a bunch of New Yorkers, drops them at the Jersey shore, and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey," Christie said. Watch Video

Why can't a show be for entertainment? What is wrong with showing kids partying and having a good time? Yes some kids do get drunk quite often at the beach, they do get into fights and act silly. That is true for MOST kids of that age. This political correctness is so typical of politician speak, and the ignorance of high brow America that wants to pretend it doesn't happen. The bottom line here is its ENTERTAINMENT. Get over it representing, stereotyping, etc. We'd never have the Soprano's, South Park, and a slew of other shows if all of the overly serious politically correct soccer moms had their way. All we'd have to watch would be local news and Disney Channel 😛

Any idiot who believes that people of a state could be represented by the behaviors of those on 'reality' shows probably have a hard time reading books without pictures. A similar uproar happened when people defamed Italians for the Sopranos, all Chinese know Kung Fu, and all blacks are angry gangbangers.

When did ignorance become a point of view?

Christie is raping the middle class with his budget cuts, yet CNN chooses to run a story on NJ about THIS?
