Study: Breaking up is like quitting cocaine addiction

(CNN) – They say breaking up is hard to do, but how does the brain react to getting dumped? A new study looks at what's going on in our brains after breakups. Helen Fisher is a biological anthropologist and research professor at Rutgers University. She led the study and she joined us on Wednesday's American Morning to explain the findings. Watch Video

DEA finds first true drug submarine

(CNN) – Drug smugglers have used planes, speedboats and even human "mules." Now, DEA agents say they have found in a swamp in Ecuador the first completely submersible drug submarine. Similar vessels found before have only peeked above the surface. This discovery is a sign that traffickers are taking the battle even deeper. Jay Bergman is a regional director for the DEA and oversees all investigations in Columbia and Ecuador. He joined us on Wednesday's American Morning to discuss the implications of the find. Crews work feverishly to save oily birds found alive

(CNN) – As we hit day 79 of the BP oil disaster, a new report from National Geographic is raising more red flags about the impact the oil is having on threatened and endangered birds. Experts say cleanup crews working in sensitive areas are causing adult birds to abandon their young, and chicks and eggs are accidentally being trampled on. So far, the feds say more than 2,300 birds have been collected, but about 60% of them were already dead. Our John Zarrella reports on the crews working feverishly to save the ones found alive. No relief from heat in sight for Northeast

(CNN) – A scorching, record-breaking heat wave continues to roast much of the Northeast, with the National Weather Service keeping in effect heat advisories in the region until Wednesday evening. In addition, the service has issued an "excessive heat warning" until 8 p.m. Wednesday for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Trenton, New Jersey; and parts of Delaware.
