Gearing up for midterm elections

(CNN) – Today marks the beginning of the fall political season. And with November’s midterm elections less than two months away, CNN poll numbers indicate that support for Democrats is eroding. What does this mean for the balance of power on Capitol Hill? And how will jobs, the economy and health care be affected? Republican strategist, Leslie Sanchez, and Democratic strategist, Kiki Mclean, joined us on Monday's American Morning to help us answer these questions.

How can u create jobs in the US when all corporations care about is profit??? That is why all the manufacuturing jobs went to asia....cause they work cheap. Much cheaper than a North American is willing to work for. Problem is that the short term profits will cause the US worker to be unable to BUY the products that are made in asia. He wont have a paycheck to BUY all the bling that is now made in asia. Asia wont have buyers for their stuff and the whole system will collapse...they will have to lay-off ppl in order to keep their profits up. Buy local...even if it costs more. We have to maintain our ability to make the stuff we need. Or else North America will become the NEWEST THIRD WORLD continent. Waiting for handouts from China. Uh oh...I think that has already happened.

THEY JUST SET BACK AND BLOCK EVERY GOOD IDEA THIS ADMINSTRATION PUT ON TABLE. SEEM AS THOUGH THE GOP WANT THE ADMINISTRATION TO FAIL, THIS IS NOT THE AMERICAN WAY,WE ALL SHOULD WORK TOGETHER, AND TRY TO GET OUR COUNTRY OUT THIS MESS. FOR MYSELF I AM GOING WORK AND GET MY COUNTRY BACK TOGETHER. END OF STORY...

Re: CNN poll. Just WHO on earth did your pollsters call...only conservative Republicans? In my whole circle of friends both rich and middle class, many of whom are embarrassed Republicans, not even one person blames the Democrats for the sorry state of the US economy. They ALL blame the Republicans...starting with the Reagan "supply side economic" policies, deregulation of oil & gas, banks, insurance companies, mining, etc., the destruction of US manufacturing, horrible "Free" trade policies, outsourcing of US jobs, tax breaks for big corporations going offshore and not paying taxes. Oh, and two UNFUNDED wars.
Why is your reporting on the "poor" economy so generic? Why aren't you breaking down the "issues"? Instead of just saying "the stimulous didn't work," why aren't you talking about the fact that it was too small to begin to fix the problems, because the Republicans started screaming about spending and BLOCKED all attempts to follow the economists' recommendations. Oh, and by the way, I was a lifelong Republican until the party was bought and paid for by all the corporate special interests destroyed the US manufacturing base and dumped the economy of this country onto the backs of the little guys...the "consumers...with unsolicited, easy credit.
