Europe warned of Mumbai-style terror attacks

(CNN) – A German citizen of Afghan descent was the source of much of the information on a potential "Mumbai-style" terror plot in Europe, a German counterterrorism official said Wednesday.

The man, Ahmed Sidiqi, was detained in Kabul in July and transferred to U.S. custody where he has "revealed details about the terror plot," said the official, who did not want to be named because he is not authorized to talk to the media.

The man and several other Germans traveled from Hamburg to the Afghan-Pakistan border area in 2009, where he joined the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, an extremist group allied with al Qaeda, German intelligence officials said. FULL STORY

Obama takes economic road show to Iowa, Virginia

(CNN) – President Obama will meet with families in Des Moines, Iowa, and Richmond, Virginia, Wednesday as he continues a multi-state tour to talk about economic issues.

The president also will answer questions from small groups of people in each city, according to the White House.

In a similar event in New Mexico on Tuesday, Obama talked about immigration and his views on his faith in addition to his plans for jump-starting the economy. There was also an emotional exchange with a young man about veterans' benefits.

The visit to Iowa comes as a Des Moines Register Iowa Poll shows 59 percent of Iowans are dissatisfied with how the president is handling the economy, up 5 points from February. FULL STORY

    Obama with the support of the congress & senate, needs to redirect where tax payer money is going. For example, non-US military money that goes to Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan & other countries needs to be cut at least 50% so, that money can go right back into what USA needs... more federal jobs, food for the kids in school, food stamps, maintenance of our infrastructure, etc.

    I still fail to understand people complaining that the Republicans are about big business but the Democrats have gave more and will continue to give more to big business than the Republican have.

    Congratulations –
    You took a simple story and completely missed the point. With the game show in Australia, the hostess was not "at fault" as Roberts reported, it was the producer talking in her ear. You also missed the fact that this producer is now looking for a new job, since that show hostess is the daughter-in-law of Rupert Murdoch.

    @Average American,
    I sure didn't vote for this president. People voted for "change", and when the tax breaks expire at the end of this year, that is what we will have left in our pockets is change, because this administration will start taking our entire paycheck in taxes to pay for their wasteful spending.

    For naming my first son, we needed an "M" but didn't like Myron or Melvin or Michael. One night, watching a Jeff Chandler movie, "Merrill's Marauders," my wife (at the time) looked at each other and said that was it. For the middle name, we needed a "B." Walking up the street one night to the loacal drug store, the Blake Pharmacy, we got his middle name. Years later, he was curious why we didn't name him John or Bob. I like "Kirin." People remember uniqueness.

    obamas road show is a dog and pony show. The fact is obama, geitner, and bernanke gave trillions to wall street, and banks. He is giving billions in tax breaks to corporations and nothing but talk to main street. Wall street is right back in business giving out billions in bonuses, corporations are making billons by outsourcing and hiring illegal alien labor, but main street is supposed to wait. All you her from obama is it takes time and the crowds cheer. Obama is a corporotist not a socialist.

    I look forward to your interview with Rush. A few questions I have are for Neil Peart. How does his drumming assist him with the writing of Lyrics? What is his inspiration for writing? What was the inspiration behind Cygnus X1? Was the subsequent Album influenced by the writings of Nietzche in regards to music and art? Will the band ever attempt to write another in depth ballad?

    Times are different for Obama because people has seen what he is really about and they realize – they can't afford him. Call it buyer's remorse. Nothing more.
