The recent numbers of suicide today due to bullying saddens me. I use to be a mediator for the County of Riverside. My job took me to Denver CO for a seminar on Mediation. It is there I learned about mediation being done in the schools to help the sturdents deal with issues they may have with other students.

At this seminar were students who attended Columbine High Schoo. These students performed a skit on bullying, that literally brought me to tears. I went back to my hotel room and cryed like a baby.

Todays youth is being entertained by video games, music videos and the internet. I am saying this to make a point.

Todays families don't sit down at the dinner table anymore to discuss that days event. Instead everyone fends for themselves. What happen to communication within the family.? Our youth is being raised by strangers, not their parents. They are being raised up by violent video games and violent tv shows. .

When the kids go home from school everyday they are faced with fear, anger, and despair. No one is home but their THOUGHTS. Thoughts that drive them to do the unthinkable. WHY?????? Because we stopped being parents along time ago. We stopped disciplining our children when 1-800-Child-abuse came into play fearing we would go to jail, or our children would be placed into foster system. At one point I wanted to put together a skit, like the one performed at Columbine High School in the local schools in my community. Utilizing the children from their own school. The theme to this skit.

"BREAK THE SILENCE ON VIOLENCE" in our Schools
I wish now I had given BIRTH to this ideal.
