You are mixing results from two trials. The few long-term survivors are from early trials. The patient featured in your video is part of a multi-center trial that had interim results released in June 2010 and disappointed many. The developer of the vaccine, Pfizer, returned the drug to its original owner, Celldex, in September.

    Dr. Gupta,

Thanks so much for sharing this exciting new information. My father was diagnosed last week with a brain tumor. Surgery was successful in the removal of the tumor however the pathology is indicating that it is a melanoma. The primary source has not yet been located. A PET scan will hopefully aid in locating the main source. In the video you said that this new vaccine was being used on patients with a glioblastoma, is it being used for other types of brain cancer? Where can I receive additional, reliable information?

Thank you for sharing your voice and your commitment to patients and families,
