I work in Career Services at a university, and we hold various seminars for helping students get jobs. We even hold a dining etiquette seminar. In my opinion, it absolutely matters how you behave at a meal during an interview- your guard is down a bit more so you let your "real" self show a bit more.

Why is the woman giving the class speaking with food in her mouth and while chewing?
"Yes SIr", "Yes Ma'am", "No Sir", "No Ma'am" goes a long way. It's a sign of respect.
