Illegal immigrant on DREAM Act:'We are the solution'

(CNN) - The House and Senate could vote as soon as Wednesday on a bill that would grant citizenship eligibility to thousands of young illegal immigrants if they go to college or serve in the military. The Obama administration and Congressional Democrats will hold a Wednesday news conference to push for passage of the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act, or DREAM. Championing the bill for the White House is Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. Assistant Senate Majority Leader Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Illinois, and Rep. Howard Berman, D-California, are also scheduled to appear.

The DREAM Act would create a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants who entered the United States as children. Under the bill, an individual would have to be of "good moral character" and either receive a college degree or complete at least two years of U.S. military service.

Today on American Morning, two illegal immigrant students who are pushing for The Dream Act, Gaby Pacheco and Cesar Vargas, speak with AM's Kiran Chetry on their mission. Read more

The DREAM ACT is yet one more way the Democrats are using to try to give Amnesty for up to 2 million illegal aliens. There are no enforcement provisions to prove the students came to the US before they were 15 and only requires them to enroll in a junior college beore they are 35. In the meantime, their parents are given work permits to allow them to stay in the US (more amnesty) until the students are 21, when they can petition that their parents become US citizens under the family provision. Then then can get food stamps, welfare, free medical care, etc. which is the reason they come here.
This is just a scam and CNN is such a left wing TV channel that I am not surprised that this scumbag Kiran Chetry is giving this one sided analysis and interviews. ICE should have been at the interviews and arrested the two illegals and started deportation proceedings for them. What a bunch of fools many Americans are- to believe that the 16 million illegal aliens, ~80% Mexicans, are here to do anything but steal every dollar they can from the US taxpayers.
And shows what low lives the Democrats are to push for Amnesty so they can get the Latino votes.

Why can't common sense legislation like this pass through Congress and be enacted into law??

So tired of the squabbling for or against new legislation based solely upon party affiliation.

Sunny... how more anti-American can someone get than you are? Every job an illegal alien gets is taking a job from a needy American. And you're in favor of giving illegal aliens a free college education when children of tax paying citizens don't get that.

PLEASE for the love of "GOD" don't ever breed.

The assumptions made by the opponents of Dream are outright insulting. Virtually all economists agree that immigration increases the wealth of the US. Further, studies have shown that immigrants do not increase the rate of unemployment among native Americans. Dreamers are necessary to America's future - their social security contributions will be helping to support the retirees of an otherwise declining work force. Dismissing the bogus financial reasons to oppose Dream, what is left? Xenophobia? Racism? It's time to fight for the civil rights of Dreamers. These people were raised here and we have to stop stigmatizing and marginalizing them. It's not humane, it's not fair and it's not Christian.

So you want to send 12,000,000 people away. Let's see, the hospitality industry would collapse, no more hotel maids, no more dishwashers or cooks. I'm not going to go work as dishwasher are you? Janitors and custodians, all gone. The agriculture industry will collapse, are you going to pick the produce I'm not. You are going to cost small businesses that are struggling to survive billions of dollars because they hired affordable labor. Yes this is a brilliant solution. You must be a Republican
