(CNN) – A public funeral for Elizabeth Edwards will be held on Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina at 1 p.m. ET. Representatives for the Edwards family confirmed that the service will be held at the Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, where the Edwards family worshiped. The funeral will be open to the public. Edwards will then be buried at the Historic Oakwood Cemetery, also in Raleigh, according to office manager Sharon Freed. Freed also told CNN about the proximity of Edwards' burial to her son Wade – also buried there after dying in a 1996 car crash.

I'm so sad to hear of Elizabeth Edwards passing. I send out my condolences to her family and friends. I didnt personally know Elizabeth but I was blessed to be able to see and hear her speak over the years. She seem to be a very strong, intelligent, and inspirational women who fought hard for what she believed in. She was a good mother, grandmother, and wife who I admired. Through the years she fought long and hard battleling cancer til the end of her life. I know first hand its a very sad time for her family, so I send out my prayers to them. On December 7, 2010 heaven recieved a angel named Elizabeth Ewards, who is in a better place and in no more pain.
I have just got to say that Elizabeth Edwards was a pemarkable ladyShe struggled right to the end. she is a really an Remarable Lady, she has shown even through her illness and othe things that she has gone through , she always had a smile through it all. God Bless you elizabeth Edwards, You can finally rest in Peace, your struggle is over. She really shown women that through everything you can still smile, which is something i have always noticed. Elizabeth Our thoughts and prayers are with your family through this tragic time. Your children shoule be very proud of how how strong of a MOM that they had. I only have seen her on T.V, I am from Canada and she is a true inspiration to us all.

I applaud this tremendously courageous woman.
She has been welcomed into heaven by her almighty creator and is wearing her well deserved crown.

i was saddend to hear of the homegoing of elizabeth, i greatly admired her as a mother, wife, she knew that family was really all that mattered at the end of the day. i feel that all is well with her soul for she knew who held the key to your life. i say rest in peace, elizabeth
