NYC Councilwoman: Mayor Bloomberg is "out of touch"

Critics have been fuming over New York City's handling of yesterday's blizzard in the five boroughs. Unplowed streets remained dominant in the morning after the storm and Brooklyn state senator Carl Kruger has called the city's response a "colossal failure."

New York City councilmember and Sanitation Committee chair Letitia Davis tells Jim Acosta and Kiran Chetry that Mayor Michael Bloomberg is "out of touch" with cleanup efforts in the city.

I hear some people (mostly Democrats) complaining that Gov. Christie and the Lt. Gov. are on vacation during this snowstorm. I live in a state that gets a lot of snow (wisconsin), and our governor and Lt. Gov. have very little to do with snow removal. That is the duty of local and county governments. Perhaps those who wonder why Gov. Christie is on vacation might also wonder why Barack Obama is on vacation. After all, President Bush was blamed for the poor response to Katrina that the Democratic Governor and Mayors in Louisiana displayed. Perhaps President Obama should be dealing with this snowstorm as well. (I'm saying this tongue in cheek).

Oh come on people. What happened to personal responsibility to dig yourself out? Why are people waiting for the city government to do it for them? Get out your shovels and start digging. Help each other! That's the difference between a NY democrat who expects the governement to do it for them and a Wisconsin Republican who does it themself AND helps a neighbor. Perfect metaphor for the difference between Democrats and Republicans...

    Mayor Bloomberg is bored.

He worked overtime to circumvent the term limits; now he has the prize and he no longer is interested. His comment yesterday that the blizzard was an "inconvenience" and we should go to "a Broadway show" shows a Marie Antoinette attitude to the hard working people of NYC.

    What a jerk!

There is an abandoned taxicab on my father's block in Queens and it is blocking the entire street making in impassable. My father can not get to work. He's tried calling several city agencies and well as a Local news agency (NY1) which claims they can do nothing about it. Please help him. The abandoned taxicab is located at 57-33 Xenia Street in Queens New York.

    King Bloomberg.

I guest the next thing you come up with will be Snow tax.

You're busy with global warming in China, and with bike lanes all over the city.

You hate when other pepole drive cars, that's why you are in a war against cars.

You hit them with all type of tickets, fines, towing, tolls, bus lanes tickets, bike lanes tickets, and much more.

You're not interested pepole should be able to move their cars, all you care is to give out more of the orange envelopes.

    Its time to resign.
