Dead bird mystery deepens

Coincidence or conspiracy? That's the question many of you are asking after another 500 birds were found dead yesterday just outside of Pointe Coupee Parish in Louisiana. This comes after over 5,000 red-winged blackbirds and starlings had fallen from the sky only about 300 miles away in Beebe, Ark. It is a strange phenomenon but as the National Wildlife Federation’s Doug Inkley explains this morning on American Morning, it is not enough to be considered a conspiracy.

When I looked at the map , to me it looked as if it was occurring near fault lines. I know , I know , usually the parts of the US that the birds are dieing in is not traditionallly areas of earthquakes. But recently there has been an increase in activity near the Madras fault. Get ready for the big one.

I'm not a "holy roller" but doesn't the Bible state..."when birds & fish start dying...the earth will be nearing it's end." Hopefully not; however, the evidence is starting to point in that direction. Let's not put our heads in the sand on this one....something is amiss.

I love how so many of you have your educated theories...but you can't even spell. IMO, we are either talking about "natural causes" stemming from some systematic changes going on with our planet, or God forbid, a biblical/2012 "end of day's" scenario. I hope it's not the latter. Pretty freaky though, when you look at all of the recent animal deaths being mapped by Google:

Wow... Yea sure. Clearly they brought an "expert" on the show to give answers that certain parties want to hear. No "expert" would blatantly and ignorantly claim that two instances of mass avian mortality within 300 miles of each other is something that "just happens". If you believe there is no correlation I want to punch you in the face.

I've seen birds chased by hawks that hit my glass window and still able to fly away. There is no way birds hitting each other and die especially when it's not as hard as my glass window.

Birds and Fish two different metabolic respiration. If it were humans, what would we surmise. Fracting? Pollution? Change in temp? We may be next.

    End of times? Good possibility.
Mass poisoning during flock migration? Sounds plausable.
"Fracking" gas? Well....possible but I'm not so sure.
Government cover-up? Maybe, although I would doubt they caused the problem.
What I don't get is, with all the scientific knowledge and equipment available, why a true cause of death can't be established. (What were the manifestations within the corpses that caused life to cease?). Then maybe we could assign the "blame".

Hi people, I have never posted a comment on CNN before, but can't in all honesty not respond to these events.

i have spent many hours researching these events, and to me, the most reasonable and logical explanation is the use of the HAARP facility based in Alaska. I won't go into any detail as to why, but I would strongly urge readers to Google "HAARP dead birds", or anything similar and come to their own conclusions.

It astounds me that as far as I know, not a single media outlet has even considered this a remote possibility, much less a high probability...

In Nashville we have hundreds of birds falling from the sky too!!!!
BS! This is a very poor cover up! They don't want a PUBLIC PANIC!!
First of all birds do not fly at night, because they do not have night version. (like bats)
Secondly birds do not hold hands in massive group and fly into power line! And even IF they do, shouldn't they have some sort of burns from the power line?? (no signs of burns were found)
Finally, we use fireworks every year and how we have all these mess this year?
Personally I think it has a lot to do with the polar magnetic shifting.

Magnetic Field Shift. . . It is so simple. Check it out. Global warming is a hoax made up so that we feel that we have some kind of control, and the truth is we don't.

    Quoted from a friend's blog:

Fireworks? Cold water stress? Perhaps. I think it more likely that the King of the Universe is speaking as He did long ago through the prophet Hosea:
"....The Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: there is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgement of God in the land...Because of this the land mourns, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field, and the birds of the air and the fish of the sea are dying."
    (Hosea 4:1,3)

I do not need to add anymore. The Lord is speaking.

Shifting magnetic fields also may cause deaths in fish, due to disorientation and stress... see the results of the effects of magnetism on fish found in this paper entitled "EFFECTS OF MAGNETIC FIELD ON THE DIRECTION OF FISH MOVEMENT
UNDER NATURAL CONDITIONS" authored by Krzysztof Formicki, Adam Tański, Aleksander Winnicki:

For the effects of magnetism on birds and bees, refer to this paper written by Joseph Kirschvink of Caltech entitled "Birds, bees and magnetism: A new look at the old problem of magnetoreception"

The Earth's poles are slowly shifting towards a reversal, a reversal will cause multiple North and south poles to develop... It's simple stress induced by disorientation that's killing the birds, fish and bees.

    January 16, 2011 at 12:36 pm |
  16. CptObvious

My guess... The bird deaths are caused by the changes in the Earth's magnetic field due to increasing drift and changes of the earth's magnetic poles. It's well known that birds navigate over distances by sensing the magnetic fields of the earth... shifting poles = disoriented birds, Disoriented birds = great stress, great stress = dead birds. Simple really.

Since this has been so widespread and it is rare, wonder if it doesnt have something to do with the earths atmosphere or something that fell from the sky into the waters that doesnt effect humans–maybe it came in with the recent storms in the U.S.–cannot imagine any thing biological that would only effect birds (air) and fish (water) and nothing on land

Birds are very sensitive to a lack of oxygen because their lungs are super efficient to be able to fly (that's why canaries were used in coal mines to warn miners of poisonous gases) so I bet they were suffocated by some sort of gas.

Birds were reported dead too in Romania. Something very strange going on. It could be it was a test and they know the test worked. I hope they did not make money on this. It is a crime to kill wildlife for no reason even if you consider it a pest. We were invaded by beetles a few years ago and who did that?

what we learned first that it was the fire works for the first flock !second flock was the power lines and the third was !!!well i think they found some kind of silly reason why !!well i have no idea why they deal with the public like they are bunch of fools!!wake up people and let me say it in a so sensitive way not to hurt anybody's feeling !they are not telling the trueth!!

The bird deaths are occurring exactly where there is active FRACKING IS OCCURRING!!!! Toxic gas is burping up in porous ground around water beds marshes, rivers. Get an overlay of active fracking sites and deaths. Fish are dying for the same reason.

lord I can not believe that people think we are so stupid that we buy the lie that fire crackers killed all of these birds . Come on ha stop the madness be real we better wake up america something is wrong and the goverment is not talking. So people don't panic it's a sign of the times we are in pray pray pray because we can not depend on the goverment , we can only depend on God he is our answer to so much of our problems...

We are certainly seeing the signs of the "end of our age." I would not refer to it as the "end of time." All the signs are coming to past. There is a spiritual war taking place in the heavens and just as the bible has stated, when the "end of ages" began to occur men will go about doing, "business as usual." Blind eyes never look to see, they are blind. But we who see, know that the time is drawing near. Not long from today, there shall be an earthquake that shall shadow all previous earthquakes. There are government offical who are aware of the shift in our universe but are convinced reporting the truth is both useless and would cause chaos.

Think "Thunder Generator Cannon" from Israel. I'm not saying they are doing it, but, they have developed this equipment to scare birds, and others have been trying to develop it to use as a weapon.

Supported by: Jan 2, 2011 ... Arkansas Game and Fish Press Release: BEEBE, Ark.– Friday night, ... About 2000 black birds fell from the sky off Windwood Drive.

If you notice the "probable source" is to the left of Windwood Drive in Beebe.

I am confident this is the source, and if it is so, then something major pushed gases with such force as to kill the birds as they roosted and throw them over the houses to the street. This is it folks!

This interview told the public nothing. "This kind of thing happens sometimes" is not an answer and the news staff who told this scientist this should think about that.

Earlier, the public was told that these birds (in particular, but probably most species of birds in general) do not fly at night.

Yet, the news staff, nor this scientist questioned or reviewed that fact.

Additionally, none of these people questioned what the "loud noise" was that people had heard almost immediately before the birds dropped from the sky.

Also, the scientist's claim that they all hit powerlines, buildings, houses, etc. doesn't make sense since people witnessed birds dropping from directly above them. There are no buildings up in the sky (or powerlines). If they did hit something enough to sustain serious enough trauma resulting in internal bleeding and/or tissue damage, their deaths probably wouldn't have been delayed long enough to fly back up high into the sky where they dropped down from– or seemingly at the same time.

This issue still deserves diligent investigation and legitimate explanations.

I'm not sure what the reason for these birds dropping dead are ... but I think it's a little more than what has been reported. And weird? There HAVE been a cluster of small earthquakes in this area? Go to the US Geological Society and see for yourself.

This is the most ridiculous explaination ive ever heard. Why are these people giving these ridiculous theories? Hell, an invisible alien space craft is more believable than some fireworks went off and 5000 birds flew into eachother. How stupid do these people think we are?

Is this going to be an issue for humans?.. Such as a mutated strand of H5N1 that wipes out 1/4-1/2 of the population?!

It's not a UFO. It's our governments secret planes that can cloak themselves. Just wait until Sweden figures out we were there without permission!
