I agree wiyh Senator Durbin. Having the same leader in for this long leads to chaos, such as what is now happening in Cairo.
And, I think Senator Durbin should, along with himself, encourage all of our "career" politicians to follow suit.
We are heading down the same slippery road. This is why we need term limits in government, like we have for the presidency.
12 years total, whether a Senator or congressman.

I agree with Senator Durbin, Double edged sword. when Mubarak stated it was either him or chaos, and, he blatantly instigated this horrendous chaos on his own people is deplorable. He allowed his policemen to do beatings and other horrendous actions, now, employing people from Petco to torture and instigate violence against people voicing their opinion. He has over stepped his boundries.
I was in Egypt 30 years under sadat. I was amazed at how controlled the people were, so many so poor, and yet such dignity. Rich were rich and poor were dang poor. But, they all got along. I love Egypt.hope the best for them.
I watched as Mubarak, rose to his dictatorship, so much money and poured into Egypt only it very slowly evolved. What did this guy do with all the money? America gave them 1.3 billion. where is the build up of thier land? Economy is bad everywhere, but, the riches in Egypt are phenonomial. Yet the people stay the same. I think they finally had enough. I just hope the next ruler is not nuts. Maybe a group of leaders are better than just one.
Some of these young people educated. Should start holding nominees for election. Start registering voters. Start the process and hope that mubarack leaves quickly. Falling on his sword would help.
