The newest issue of TIME Magazine explores data mining, a method some companies use to collect information about you online to then sell to advertisers.

Is data mining a breach of security? And just how much to companies know about you? TIME Magazine Contributor Joel Stein wrote this week's cover story about data mining and talks to American Morning's Kiran Chetry about what he found out.

Women take pregnancy hormone, eat 500 calories per day to lose weight

Some women are turning to syringes and a low-calorie diet in hopes of losing weight.

For $1,000/month some women are purchasing hGC, a pregnancy hormone derived from the urine of pregnant women, and injecting themselves with it daily. In addition to the hormone injections, these women are limiting their caloric intake to 500 calories per day in order to shed pounds. But some doctors say the weight-loss method is ineffective and even dangerous.

Dr. Louis Aronne is the Director of The Comprehensive Weight Control Program at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and talks to American Morning's Kiran Chetry about the controversial weight-loss method.

Muslim-American Rep. Keith Ellison to testify at Rep. King's hearings

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) will be holding hearings on the radicalization of Muslim-Americans Thursday, but critics say the hearings are putting Islam on trial.

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim-American elected to Congress, has said the hearings unfairly target American Muslims. He will testify at Thursday's hearings.  Rep. Ellison talks to American Morning's Kiran Chetry.

Father goes to White House to fight bullies in son's honor

The President and the First Lady are taking on bullies at the White House Anti-Bullying Summit Thursday. The summit will bring experts, Administration officials and the First Family together to address bullying in schools.

Bullying affects approximately one-third of all school-aged children each year and Kirk Smalley knows this first-hand; his 11 year-old son Ty was a victim of bullying and committed suicide in May, 2010. Since his son's death, Smalley has been speaking to students across the country, sharing his son's tragic story in hopes of bringing an end to bullying.

Kirk Smalley will be at the White House Anti-Bullying Summit Thursday and will be meeting with the President and First Lady. Smalley talks to T.J. Holmes about his son's story and his mission.

NFLPA prepares players for possible lockout with financial tips

As the NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) enter day 15 of negotiations, the NFLPA is preparing its players for a possible lockout.

The NFLPA has issued a handbook with financial tips in the event the players lose their salaries, which range from $300,000 to $25.5 million. New York Jets fullback Tony Richardson is an NFLPA executive committee member and talks to T.J. Holmes about the negotiations and possible lockout.

Nightmare flight takes twelve hours instead of four

American Airlines Flight 1384 was supposed to take four hours to get from Barbados to New York but ended up lasting eight hours longer than expected after encountering bad weather Sunday.

After three reroutings, two aborted landings, and twelve hours, the flight originally destined for New York landed in Philadelphia. Caitlin Gorry was on the flight and tells Kiran Chetry and T.J. Holmes about her experience.
