Former NASA astronaut reflects on Discovery's final mission

Space Shuttle Discovery will be touching down on earth for the last time Wednesday, bringing an end to its 27-year career.

Former NASA astronaut Col. Bob Springer flew on Discovery in 1989 and talks to American Morning's Kiran Chetry about the space shuttle's final mission and legacy.

King: "The overwhelming majority of Muslims are outstanding patriots"

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) will be holding Congressional hearings on home-grown terrorism Thursday, but critics say the hearings are putting Islam on trial.

Rep. King says, he wants Americans "to realize the extent to which Al Qaeda is attempting to radicalize within the Muslim-American community" and also says he "the overwhelming majority of Muslims are outstanding patriots".

Erin Brockovich pens novel about environmental activist

Erin Brockovich, best known from the movie named after her and about her life, is an environmental activist with a knack for writing.

Wis. State Sen. Jon Erpenbach: "I wish we could be home right now"

More than two weeks after he and his Democratic colleagues fled Wisconsin to avoid a vote on the state budget, Wisconsin State Senator Jon Erpenbach remains in Chicago.

The Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller sent a letter to Gov. Scott Walker and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald asking to "resume serious discussions" Monday but Gov. Walker responded saying Sen. Miller is not open to negotiations. Is there a rift among Wisconsin's Democrats? When will they return home? Sen. Erpenbach talks to T.J. Obama reverses stance on Gitmo

On his second full day in office, President Obama signed an executive order that would shut down the prison within a year, but the President is now saying the U.S. will resume military tribunals for terror detainees at Guantanamo Bay.
