Malcolm X book reveals startling details of his assassination
Details in a new biography about the life and legacy of Malcolm X reveal new information about the activist’s early life and his assassination in 1965.
The book, Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention, suggests that police were aware of death threats against Malcolm X and stood back, and that different people may have been involved in the assassination than those convicted.
Today on American Morning, Zaheer Ali, the lead researcher on the book who has spent most of his academic career researching Malcolm X, talks about reactions to the new information with AM’s Ali Velshi. He explains the importance of revisiting Malcolm X’s story.

Jabir Malik Shabazz was a name given to him by Elijah Munhammad when he was in the Nation of Islam. Malcom chose not to use it because he was better known as Malcom X. Malcom went ot Mecca twice not once. the first time time Elijah Muhammad sent him. We must know the truth about our Brother and our history. the best place to start with learning the truth about our brother and what really happen is to start with the NOI or at least those who were in the NOI when Malcom was around. No researcher of Malcom can not give you a good picture of who and what he was without talking to those who knew him best and the truth is those whom he was in the NOI with and around everyday know him best.
The above statement is not correct. Malcolm used Malik Shabazz
for many years prior to his death. The book is a fraud. This is more
the works of sloppy students, and a sick author. What a cheap attempt to make a dollar. All associated with this book needs
to reveal their sources, According to this trash, Both, Malcolm and his
wife were bedding other muslims while they were married, You want
the real double agent its Louis Farrakhan side kick Larry (Akbar) Prescott. He stood this child Zaheer up and told the audience at Mosque
# 7 he is writing the History of the Nation while attending Columbia University. William Bradley needs to sue for being called "alleged"
murderer on page 475. Linward X Cathcart needs to sue for damages
and Sharon X. Poole. The truth is never enough for some people
they want awards for these outrageous and fictious lies.
As Salaamu Alaikum (Peace be Upon You). I applaud the efforts of the author and students who have worked the last decade or more to bring us this literary work today. I plan to purchase today.
What I would like to emphasize is that Malcom name changed with his different evolutions in life. When he came to accept what he thought was true Islam under the Nation of Islam he became Malcom X. Sometime later he adopted the name Malcom Shabazz. After leaving "The Nation" and making the pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest of Muslims places, he became Malik Shabazz, as was his name when he died.
We musn't get caught on one evolution, Malcolm X.
