House minority whip says goal is to keep government operating over the next seven days

A "Clean CR, or 'Continuing Resolution,' is a simple agreement that will "keep things going as they’re going now," says House minority whip, Rep. Steny Hoyer. A government shut down will have very negative affects on our country. He speaks to CNN's American Morning on the plans to move forward.

Are you guys kidding me? When I first heard of a potential government shutdown I was led to believe it was all about money and the allotment of money to various services. Then I find out it’s about policy and abortion. What? The first question I asked was who is holding us hostage and why? Then I find out it’s the Republican party and the Tea Party affiliates. Well excuse me! So here’s the irony. The buffoons that are holding us hostage claim they want to lower the federal debt. How by eliminating abortion? Isn’t that a moral issue and a personal responsibility? Isn’t it up to the States to determine if it is illegal? Remember the churches should have nothing to do with this legality if we wish to maintain the separation of church and state. So where are these buffoons coming from; their own morality? So now the Republicans and Tea Partiers want to not fund abortion. Ok good. But wait there’s more. The States don’t have the money to fund the public schools. HUH? So we’re making kids by the ‘Rabbit-Full’. Meaning. We’re breading like rabbits. Who’s going to educate them? We’ve taken away the responsibility of the School system to teach our kids to be upstanding American citizens and we’re reducing the teacher pool in just about every state in these United States. How does that work? Without a sound education, we’ll need more prisons. Who’s going to build them? Is the real answer to have abortion available to all or none at all. Think of the consequences, meaning what type of a society will we have in 15 to 20 years when these kids who are uneducated and start having sex? If a girl gets pregnant, who’s responsible? It should be the boy, girl and their parents. In this day and age, If the boy and girl can’t afford to have the child the states shell out money not on abortion fees, the federal government shells out money, again not on abortion fees, and the responsible people shell out money in taxes to pay for all those kids and kid’s parents who can’t work because they’re taking care of their kids. We as parents and educators teach our kids not to have sex? Yeah Right! So where does this end? The jobs aren’t there; they’re mostly over seas. Corporations don’t pay their fare share of taxes because they’re being enticed by the States to move there to create jobs. They think they’re creating jobs, maybe 1 in 5, but we as a people still pay the taxes that the corporations don’t. Finally, for the Republicans want to reduce Medicare and Medicaid? In the retirement states Florida and Arizona, good luck getting re-elected.

The government is shutting down because of "what" abortion?

Oh, my. We must be laughing stock of the entire world.

Does John Boehner have a closet full of hangers or something. Donate to Good Will John..

A little tip John, your cosmetologist is lying to you. Orange is not the color of skin tones.

i think its disgusting that the republican party would shut down the government just to flex their republican muscles–troops wont be paid but congress will–now theres an injustice for you–the american people should be so totally disgusted and should be on the phones to their republican representitives lodging complaints and warning them that their jobs are not secure if they follow through with this
