"Mud Island" sits in the middle of the Mississippi River and Wolf River, with flooding threatening to get worse, residents are worried. CNN's American Morning speaks with syndicated talk show host and resident of "Mud Island" Ben Ferguson about the situation.
HELLO
How about doing an article on some real news that makes to the average citizen. For example:
1. Which insurance companies did the best job helping regular folks during the tornadoes and flooding. Tips to ensure you're adequately insured, common pitfalls, etc.
2. Lots of people traveling during this time of year. How about daily updates to which major interstates have closures due to flooding and which websites we can use to best route our travels.
3. Reduce caffeine for the morning trio. Man are they amp'd up, borderline spasitic. talk so fast they can barely take a breath. RELAX!!
4. Get back to the basics instead of "sensationalizing" everything.
I like CNN in the mornings but you're losing your grass roots following.
While I appreciate your continuing coverage on this historic flooding, could you please get your facts straight? Mud Island is NOT underwater, you do not "need a boat" to get there as was stated Monday morning 5/09/11 on your broadcast.
I am sitting in my home on Mud Island. We have not been told by the city to evacuate. Only the northern exit road is blocked by the Wolf River, but the southern bridge is clear. City workers have done a great job preparing in case the river rises to the level of the road, but it appears that won't be the case (and has never happened).
I know newspeople have a flair for the dramatic but come on - you'll give my mom a heart attack!
