Spanx founder gives skinny on shapewear mega brand

Celebrities wear them on the red carpet, and now you can even buy them at Target–Spanx, the shapewear mega brand, is helping women (and men) look slimmer under their clothes. Over nine million pairs of the footless pantyhose have been sold.

The brand began with a pair of white pants that were a little too tight and a derriere that was a little too big. Today on American Morning's Alina Cho talks to Spanx founder Sara Blakely. Blakely tells the story of how she created the product and built the $350 million business.

Should American kids go to school year round?

Students in classrooms across the country are gearing up for summer break, but some say three months off is exactly what they don't need. U.S. schools rank 14th in Reading and 25th in Math among industrialized countries, and have one of the shortest school years at 180 days a year. Some, like columnist LZ Granderson, say we need to reevaluate summer vacation and keep American kids in school year round to compete globally.
